  • 2 cups Flour
  • 2 tbsp Baking Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 cup Shortening
  • 3/4 cup milk {approx}
  1. Sift dry ingredients into a mixing bowl
  2. Cut in shortening with a pasty blender or two knives until the mixture has the appearance of fine crumbs
  3. Add milk, a small portion at a time to the dry mixture stirring with a fork or spoon until the dough forms a ball around the spoon
  4. Turn dough out onto a lightly floured board and knead gently 10 times
  5. Pat or roll out dough to 1.5-2 cm thick. Cut with floured cookie cutter with even pressure. Let stand on ungreased baking sheet for 10 minutes before baking
  6. Bake at 350 for 15-20 minutes depending on size of biscuits, or until tops lightly brown. Cool on rack and enjoy {we like them still warm}
