During our stay in the Orlando area, we tried a theme park we hadn’t been to before – LEGOLAND Florida Resort! There you will find more than 50 rides, shows, a water park, attractions and great food. All of it is uniquely inspired by popular LEGO brands and characters.
Ideal for ages 2-12, LEGOLAND Florida Resort is 45 minutes from Orlando. For those staying the area, it’s a very accessible top Central Florida attraction. We were actually closer than that as our Balmoral Resort vacation rental home was in Haines City, situating us almost in between Orlando and LEGOLAND.
LEGOLAND Florida Resort
Our time spent at LEGOLAND Florida Resort was a great day trip to say the least, you can check out our LEGOLAND video for highlights of our day.
LEGOLAND Florida is exactly what you’d expect, and more. A place dedicated to everybody’s favourite brick, it successfully brings the world of LEGO to life, at each and every turn. Massive structures build to small replica cities made entirely from LEGO – it’s impressive indeed.
This location allows you to build, buy, play and ride LEGO. Since my kids are at the top of this age range, they enjoyed it the most as it’s all geared for those ages. While we all had a great time, I think they loved it most.
Newly Opened The LEGO Movie World
While the resort has so much to offer as it’s divided into multiple lands inspired by different LEGO product lines and destinations, we were most excited about checking out the newly opened THE LEGO® MOVIE™ WORLD.
This area is an expanded section of the park inspired by the characters and themes of the worldwide blockbuster THE LEGO® MOVIE™ and the exciting new big-screen animated adventure sequel THE LEGO® MOVIE™ 2: The Second Part.
As soon as you enter the area, you set foot in the movie, right down to the authentic city scape. This movie-to-theme park experience allows guests to interact with characters, enjoy three new rides to the resort and dine at tasty new locations.
THE LEGO MOVIE WORLD part of LEGOLAND was definitely our favourite part of the theme park, every aspect is creative and fun.
When you go, you simply MUST take in Taco
Tuesday Everyday eatery, as they have perhaps the best soft tacos I’ve ever had. Quite appropriately named, if I could, I would most certainly take in these tacos every single day.
I have to admit, things like the simple parking and admission system, LEGO play areas for kids while they wait in line, and finishing with the food options which I found to much better than your standard theme park fare – I was very smitten with LEGOLAND.
This theme park is perfect for younger kids yet contains genius aspects that will make the parents stay that much more enjoyable as well.
It’s true, Everything is Awesome at LEGOLAND Florida Resort.
