Brought to you by Jamieson and TheCo

A lot goes on behind your closed eyes when you sleep, possibly more than you know. Getting a decent nights sleep boosts metabolism, strengthens the immune system, re-charges cognitive function and lowers stress.

On the adverse, on days following lack of sleep; many tend to feel hungrier, and more emotional. The lack also affects memory, and increases risk of high blood pressure or heart disease.

We know the importance of sleep, thinking about the pressure to get enough sleep can literally cause lack of sleep.

Sleeplessness and hindrances to getting a good night’s rest is caused by many factors such as stress, diet, temperature, interruptions, and so much more. It could be as simple as a dog barking outside when you’re used to silent nights. Years ago I could sleep through dump trucks parading down the alley, yet now the cat can run down the carpeted stairs at 3am and I’m fully awake.

This time of year throws another factor into the mix – Daylight Saving time. The fall time zone change comes at a time when the weather and temperature starts to drain our spirits. Now to add to the chaos, we lose a precious hour of sleep. While there are many resources by way of tips and advise buzz on how to help kids adjust, I have to admit, I have the harder time finding that balance than they do.

Such advice includes transitioning bedtime by 15 minute increments the week leading up to, and this goes for kids and adults alike. Other suggestions include limiting screen time right before bed, getting ample exercise, proper nutrition and ensuring your sleep space is calming, comfortable and a optimum temperature.

Yet what if these basic tips don’t quite seem to do the trick for you?

It’s ok to need help from time to time.

Power Through Time Change with Natural Energy & Sleep Solutions

Lack of sleep can cause lack of energy, and lack of energy can cause lack of sleep.

Vicious cycle right? What you need to do is assist both your sleep cycles and your awake energy levels. They very much do go hand in hand.

Power Through Time Change with Natural Energy & Sleep Solutions from Jamieson Vitamins, to improve sleep and lessen the impact on sleep disruptions.

When the battles of sleep hinderance are getting you down but not out, there are some natural energy & sleep solutions to assist. The experienced team of scientists and nutrition experts at Jamieson Vitamins have a lineup of natural health products that can help you get the key nutrients necessary for overall good health, more energy and better sleep.

Vitamin B12 for Natural Energy

There is a reason why the B vitamins are labelled as the ‘Energy Vitamins’ and the first to look at {and start taking daily!} is Jamieson’s Vitamin B12.

A while back I had asked my doctor what could cause me to be tired all the time as I was following most tips when it came to getting a good nights sleep, yet I literally yawned every minute of the day. The first thing he asked me was if I was taking vitamin B12 daily to promote energy.

You see, vitamin B12 helps your body turn carbs into the glucose your body uses to keep you alert and active. On the adverse, a lack of this vitamin could very easily cause fatigue, poor concentration, brain fog, lack of focus, impaired memory, mood swings, and sleep disturbances.

Jamieson’s Vitamin B12 is naturally energizing & faster acting because of its quality, formulating with a superior form of B12 called methylcobalamin. Methylcobalamin is more easily absorbed by the body than other forms of supplemental B12.

Melatonin for Natural Sleep Solution

Our bodies produce melatonin, which is a hormone that’s key function is to regulate sleep timing. Yet aging, shift work, sleep disruptions, and other factors such as time zone changes cause our melatonin production to decrease. The decrease then causes sleep problems, lethargy and mood disorders – which again affect daily energy {hence the vicious cycle}.

Taking a Jamieson’s Melatonin supplement helps you get a better night’s sleep by improving the time it takes to fall asleep, helps you stay asleep, and improves the overall quality. It’s a natural product without the side effects of habitual use of OTC drugs.

It makes sense that it’s most effective to take B12 in the morning and Melatonin before going to bed, as they are the dynamic duo to help you feel better rested and more energized during the day. They come in a variety of products, which I’ve listed below. Take the ones best suited for you, yet I have to admit that I love the ease of the spray and the taste of the Cherry flavoured fast melt!

These products can be found at all drug, grocery or mass retailers across Canada (such as Shoppers Drug Mart, Loblaws, Walmart, Safeway, Co-Op, Sobeys)

  • Jamieson Vitamin B12 (Cherry flavoured fast melt, 5,000 micrograms)
  • Jamieson Vitamin B12 Energy Spray
  • Jamieson Melatonin (10 milligram Time-Released)
  • Jamieson Melatonin Sleep Spray

Does time change affect your sleep quality?

My husband is a big believer in the Jamieson Melatonin Spray. A couple of squirts under his tongue on nights he has trouble falling asleep and voila! Even if it is a placebo effect, I don’t care!

I try and take it most nights. While I do take it when I can’t sleep, I always wish I had just taken it before I laid down. lol
