Our Power of OxiClean Challenge

When the kids were younger, I worried about foods staining their clothes, which explains the countless bibs everywhere. At one point it was so bad that I had ‘eating shirts’ for the twins, that poor fabric didn’t know what hit it. Then as the kids grew older and their dexterity perfected, I didn’t cringe serving spaghetti {that is, unless they are in a silly mood with the chance of flinging}.

Thing is, proper use of utensils doesn’t mean we are free and clear of stained clothing. The stains just evolve. Now I’m more concerned about the make-up smear that found its way to my crisp white comforter, and the endless dirt and grass stains on all the clothing. Keeping kids clothes stain-free and looking newer and longer, is an ongoing battle. Yet it’s one that we can win.

Case and point, all of our clothing after completing the Foam Fest course through trails, lakes, mud pits, foam pits and grassy areas. Do not adjust your screens – these clothes are dark, and not originally. Some may not look so bad, but some are inside out, the only way we could properly get it off our bodies. There’s plenty of ‘white’ socks in there, as the photo is labelled … yes, somehow I let white socks slip past me on the way out the door to a mud-run. Sigh.

I’m not an expert, but I know many things – and laundry is one of them. If a person doesn’t learn clothing care labels, and the differences between detergents and soaks – they’re not winning the battle completely. And this above pile of clothing? Some would have just thrown them away, and truthfully I stared at this pile for a while and seriously considered throwing most of it out. In the end, nope, I had to try.

These clothes and others much like it {dragged through the mud, any mud that my kids could find}, were the ideal test subjects for the Power of OxiClean Challenge.

What is the Power of OxiClean Challenge? – Use the stain fighting power of OxiClean pre-treaters and in-wash stain fighters exclusively for one month to challenge the toughest stains to keep your kid’s clothes stain-free, and looking newer, longer.

Having used OxiClean for many years in my house with success, I felt it was the ingredient to battle against the grime that was trying to call these clothes home. After all, OxiClean is the #1 Stain fighter Brand in Canada, works on a wide variety of stains and gets the tough stains out the first time, and offers several colour-safe products designed with stains in mind – from powerful pre-treaters to powerful in-wash stain fighting products.

Power of OxiClean Challenge

The products in my army include:

  • OxiClean™ MaxForce™ Foam Pre-Treater blasts away even the greasiest of stains the first time with its foaming action. Spray and treat for up to 7 days for those tough, stuck-on stains. Try this one on stains that have lingered for a while, it’s your best chance to finally be rid of them.
  • OxiClean™ MaxForce™ Spray – combines 5 types of stain fighters to help you get out more of your toughest dried-in stains the 1st time! Tackles grass and blood, grease and oil, food stains, drink stains, and soil and clay.
  • OxiClean™ White Revive™ Laundry Stain Remover gets the toughest stains out the 1st time and whitens 40% better than bleach with powerful whitening and brightening agents that won’t damage clothing.
  • OxiClean™ Colour Shield Laundry Stain Remover has tough stain fighters paired with colour-safe brighteners to guarantee your colours look new and radiant longer. You could use this one in every load!

After I washed the pile of muddy clothing, they were still dingy both to look at and feel. I could rub the fabric and still feel the grit. Ewww. So, I used OxiClean™ Colour Shield Laundry Stain Remover, to tackle the stains while also bringing back the clothes to live – and it worked like a charm. You’d never know the clothes with colours were once to filthy.

Yet these white socks, from the foam race and also a week out camping – were showing signs of distress. They were washed, but stains lingered and because of their colour – they looked old and toss-worthy.

oxiclean challenge

I wanted to see if they could be revived from drab to fab and soaked them in some hot water and OxiClean™ White Revive™ Laundry Stain Remover {along with a kids ‘white’ tank that was deserted in the laundry room because the colour was more grey-looking}. Right away you could see the water getting murky, and the dirt being pulled from the fabric, like magic!

I let these clothes pre-soak for 15 minutes and then just tossed the entire bowl into my washer, along with a couple of white towels that were in the laundry. Why not give them a taste of the challenge, but also to add some weigh to the load, so it would run the full cycle.

I’m really impressed with how they came out. Not completely new looking mind you {perhaps I need to try an OxiClean MaxForce Spray next}, yet they are no longer toss-worthy that’s for sure. I’d at least call them ‘white’ again, and they now have a longer life ahead of them than before.

oxiclean

Arm yourself with OxiClean products to tackle all the clothing stains that your kids throw at you, whatever their age. Yet let’s face it, the kids aren’t the only ones with laundry that needs the extra helping hand. I recently used the Foam Pre Treater on my white comforter, on areas which didn’t come clean with the last wash – so they were really stubborn. Yet the Foam Pre-Treater worked it’s magic, and voila! I also recently used the spray on one of my summer jackets before tossing it into the wash, food stain begone!

Also, like OxiClean Canada on Facebook for product news and updates. Take the Power of OxiClean Challenge for yourself and change drab to fab, and stop considering throwing out clothes due to stains.
