What Goes with Meatloaf?

I like to pair this traditional meatloaf recipe with Roasted Green Beans or even some Honey Glazed Carrots.

Mashed potatoes are also a popular pair, yet to mix things up, try this recipe for Oven Roasted Red Potatoes. It’s excellent.

Best Meatloaf Recipe Ever

Meatloaf used to be a dish that I didn’t make, yet I realize now that perhaps I didn’t know how to make it the right way. Then, I was introduced to the tastiest recipe there ever was.

This best meatloaf recipe ever was given to me by a friend, after enjoying it at her house on one occasion. I didn’t look back, for the meat itself but also the meatloaf sauce recipe. YUM!

It was an immediate ‘I must have this recipe!’ moment, and I’ve been making it regularly ever since – for years in fact. I know meatloaf gets a bad rap with kids sometimes, yet my daughters request it all the time.

This best meatloaf recipe is so incredibly easy, it’s one that I’ve memorized thanks to the few ingredients it requires.

I’d say the secret ingredient is the stovetop dressing. Using a boxed stuffing mix in this recipe really makes it stand out.

Sometimes I use a loaf pan when making this easy dinner recipe, and other times I use a pie plate or casserole dish. The difference when choosing, is the cook time.

If I’m on a time crunch, using a shallower dish so the meatloaf isn’t so thick – of course will allow it to cook faster.

Do you cover meatloaf when you cook it?

I usually don’t cover the meatloaf when I cook it, though I have tented foil over top if mid-cooking, I thought the tops was cooking faster than the rest. This usually happens when I use a deeper loaf versus a shallower dish.

So when gauging whether it’s done or not, watch the outside crust for crispness or stick a fork in the middle and check to see if the inside meat is cooked.

This is one recipe you simply have to try, much like this delicious Salisbury Steak with Mushroom Gravy. Enjoy!
