Our Stay at the Nickelodeon Resort Punta Cana

My family and I had the upmost pleasure of attending the Grand Opening of Nickelodeon Resort Punta Cana, located on the beautiful Uvero Alto Beach in the Dominican Republic. The location itself had special meaning.

Nickelodeon Hotels and Resorts Punta Cana

Being a new resort, I know many are seeking reviews and information, in order to plan their upcoming all-inclusive stay. First, here is a highlights video of our stay at this resort.

To help assist you with your travelling needs, here are the highlights of what makes this particular resort – a fantastic one.

Nickelodeon Hotels and Resorts Punta Cana review

The Nickelodeon Resort itself

The Nickelodeon Resort Punta Cana is a very thoughtfully laid-out resort. No matter where your room is, everything is at easy reach {there are carts to take if you wish}.

Nickelodeon Hotels and Resorts Punta Cana grounds layout

Being a new resort, they did a great job in extensive gardening, so it doesn’t feel that new when looking around. I can’t wait to see this resort in years to come when the landscaping is mature, since it’s beautiful now – it’s only going to get more lush and tropical.

The resort is easy to navigate, and beautiful both during the day and night. Don’t let the ‘Nickelodeon’ fool you into thinking that this is an over-the-top bold attraction at every turn. They did a tremendous job at adding Nick touches here and there, so it’s not overwhelming when you aren’t in the kid-zones.

My favourite touches when it comes to this are the hints of signature orange that you might not notice unless you really look, and the beige Nickelodeon character shadows scattered lightly on the buildings, which really seem to pop at night. Plus, keep an ear out at all times, you might catch the occasional Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle talking from a sewer manhole!

The placement of the buildings and the pools flow naturally like sails, it’s a gorgeous resort that is clean and relaxing.

Gourmet Inclusive Dining and Food

I know dining and food is tops on many’s lists when travelling to an all-inclusive resort, which is why Karisma hotels cannot be beat with their Gourmet Inclusive Dining and Food. This property features several gourmet dining options, serves premium alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, and also offers 24-hour room service and concierge services.

There are so many choices when it comes to grabbing that quick bite or sitting down to a meal, you will not get bored with the food during your stay, nor the eye-pleasing atmospheres at each!

Dining options at Nickelodeon Hotels and Resorts Punta Cana range from kid-friendly to elegant, and include 10 restaurants, and two “gourmet corners” for light snacks and specialty cuisine. There is also four bars and lounges, and the Doppio Coffee Shop where I loved getting my morning cappuccino to start the day.

There’s even a Nickelodeon Resort Character Breakfast available, for an additional cost. We did this one morning and it was so fun, take a peek:

While I don’t have a definite favourite at all, I did especially like BRGRS.PH. Open for lunch and dinner this restaurant is created after a famous Miami food truck – and serves the best appetizers and burgers ever.

We had to go back to this one a second time during our stay since once just wasn’t enough.

Accommodations

Beautifully and tastefully decorated, there are many accommodations options {7 categories to be exact!} at this resort. We stayed in a Swim-Up Pad Suite which was so comfortable you had to call it home. Much to our surprise, we discovered upon check-in when arriving at the resort, that we actually had two of these suites, adjoined by an inside doorway. Making a booking like this is a great option for those travelling with larger families.

Nickelodeon Hotels and Resorts accomodations

I loved the spacious sized bathroom, which made it easy to get all the 5 of us ready for the day, or for dinner. There’s nothing worse that feeling cramped with kids, so it’s highly appreciated to have rooms designed with space in mind.

From the free-standing bathtubs to the remote controlled privacy screen between the bedroom and bathroom area – this resort hit the mark when it comes to a pleasant stay. Watch this screen in action in our video review of Nickelodeon Hotels & Resorts Punta Cana.

Two amazing Swim Up rooms for the win! Thank you @nickresortpuntacana for the surprise of two connecting rooms! #adultalonetime #nickresortpuntacana #familytravel #puntacana

Of course the highlight of our room was that it was Swim-Up, and it was so nice to have a pool right off our balcony. Not only was it a nice compromise when they wanted to swim and others wanted to relax in-room, but with the sounds of water coupled with the warm breeze and soft lighting at night – it paints the setting for the perfect evening.

There’s a lot of buzz right now about the Pineapple Villa at Nickelodeon Hotels and Resorts Punta Cana, inspired by Nickelodeon cartoon favourite SpongeBob SquarePants. It’s the top category room at the resort for good reason, who doesn’t want to be the person who lives in a pineapple … ummm, next to the sea? I mean, you get your own amazing private pool to yourself!

Watch the video to take a tour of the Pineapple Villa.

Aqua Nick

Ok, now this is where the magic happens, people. Nickelodon Place is home to Just Kiddin’ kids-only clubhouse {kids club}, some fantastic eats and Aqua Nick – which includes a fun waterpark which your kids will go nuts for, spray grounds, a lazy river, a sports and entertainment centre, nightly entertainment, and daily SLIMINGS!

You can see all these features in our Nickelodeon Resort Punta Cana video, including the epic sliming in action.

There’s even a shower area to rinse off after getting slimed {or after swimming in the pool}, you won’t be able to resist picking the nose of this shower!

My oldest daughter loves archery, so were spend some time in the Sports and Entertainment Centre, which is a popular hangout for teens to unwind, shoot some pool, or sit back and visit among their kind of people.

Pools

A resort in Punta Cana Dominican Republic wouldn’t be complete without a pool to soak in the sun and dip to cool off {there’s 9 to choose from at this resort!}. Our family were frequently found at the main pool beside the beach, either swimming, chatting up other travellers at the swim-up bar, or taking in some Aqua Aerobics in the activity pool.

Nickelodeon Hotels & Resorts Punta Cana pool beach

It’s a huge pool, I never felt crowded for space at all. The temperature was just right, and there’s even an activity desk to borrow various balls and pool-side games if you need the extra entertainment.

Beach

Spacious and beautiful would describe the beach at Nickelodeon Hotels and Resorts Punta Cana.

Nickelodeon Hotels & Resorts Punta Cana uvera alta beach

Always clean, this beach offers plenty of seating to sit and gaze at the turquoise waters. While at times I just stared into the ocean, I also did some reading, wave jumped, and helped build sandcastles and mermaid tails.

Sunrises are insanely beautiful from this beach, if you are the type to get up early at least once on your vacation to take in this sight – plan to do so!

My son has been begging me to go to a place like this! I thought it was just in California, but apparently I need to check them out a little closer and see where else they are! It looks like you all had a blast!

I remember the first time we took our oldest grandson to Hotel Nickelodeon in Orlando. He was 4-years old at the time. Now he’s a big 16 and I’m thinking the Nickelodeon Resort Punta Cana is the perfect place for a family vacation now that he’s a teenager. There’s something for everyone from the youngest grandchild to Grandpa and me!
