As you know Disney is on a spree of making animated classics into live-action adventures, and I personally cannot get enough. The newest release onto disc is “The Jungle Book” based on Rudyard Kipling’s timeless stories, and inspired by Disney’s classic 1967 animated film.
In fact, you can get your copy on Digital HD, Disney Movies Anywhere, a Blu-ray Combo Pack, DVD AND On-Demand starting today.
The film centres on Mowgli, a man-cub who’s been raised by a family of wolves. But Mowgli finds he is no longer welcome in the jungle when fearsome tiger Shere Khan, who bears the scars of Man, promises to eliminate what he sees as a threat.
I remember seeing the animated version as a kid, and it’s one that’s always been near to my heart. I adore the story and the music – so I love that this film stays true to the story and pays homage to the original film by highlighting snippets of the classic songs we all know and love.
Each version of Disney’s The Jungle Book includes fantastic behind the scenes bonuses such as peeks at the innovative filmmaking technology used to create the richly immersive jungle world and characters, and interviews. I always love watching the bonus footage just as much as the movie, you learn so much about the making of the movie as well as the actors.
Keep your eyes peeled though, the 3D version of The Jungle Book will be available later this year!
Here’s something fun for the kids, if they are like mine, they love to dive into anything they can when they fall in love with a film.
