Back to School – What I’m Not Looking forward To

‘Looking forward to back to school?’ gets a different answer depending on who you ask – the kids or the parents. While they might have reservations, and I might be shouting YES from the rooftops, truth is, the are some drawbacks to this time of year {even for those doing the celebratory shouting}.

Back to School - What I'm Not Looking forward To

Back to School – Here’s what I’m Not Looking forward To:

Laundry: Summer comes with its fair share of stains, but soon clothes, activity wear and gym clothes will take over – big time. You know the importance of keeping these items in good condition, there’s nothing worse than having to replace something mid-year. They are all pricey and it’s important to care for them properly.

You really have two options:

  1. Beg and plead with your kids to treat these items with care {good luck!}.
  2. Equip yourself with a killer laundry arsenal that’s always at your fingertips.

The best option is to stock up on OxiClean™ Colour Shield Liquid Laundry Stain Remover, it keeps colours looking their brightest. And OxiClean™ White Revive™ Stain Remover Powder has your whites covered as it’s specially formulated to maintain whites – without chlorine bleach. For inevitable stains, turn to OxiClean™ Laundry Stain Remover Spray and OxiClean™ Max Force™ Gel Stick to pre-treat in advance of your next laundry day.

Aches and pains: Real life will ramp up again quickly for you too. Whether you’re back at the office and adjusting to sitting at a desk all day, or you’re just trying to keep up with your kids – topical pain relievers such as RUB·A535™ Extra Strength Heating Cream are essential to have on hand for those muscle aches and pains. It delivers fast-acting, warm, penetrating relief of muscle, joint, back and arthritic pain.

Cavities: Before you know it, Halloween will be approaching and then the Holidays are not far behind. For you this means an extra-long to-do list. For your kids, it’s the start of a regular diet of candy and chocolate, so brushing their teeth will be key! When brushing is fun, your kids will want to brush their teeth! They’ll love the novelty of the moving brush head on Arm & Hammer™ Spinbrush™ Kids Battery Toothbrush and designs such as My Little Pony™ and Paw Patrol™ will get them even more excited.

Heading back to school really isn’t so bad, even with these common complaints – because there are solutions!

That being said, what are you not looking forward to the most?
{I bet there’s lots of votes for lunch-packing and setting the alarm!}

Disclosure: This is a compensated post, yet as always, all opinions are my own.

  1. I have yet to venture into the depths of back to school chaos.

    However my 1st is starting preschool in 2 weeks and I’m so excited for us! I love that she Wil be in a learning environment and get a little more attention then she currently does at home with me and her 1 year old sister.

  2. I have 2 starting kindergarten this year and I am so emotional about it and I can’t figure out why. I also have one going into grade 11 and one going into grade 6. I guess I’m just realising how fast they grow up.

  3. I am really bummed out that school is going back in! I am going to miss having my kids at home – we’ve had so much fun together this summer!! And I know my younger daughter is going to miss playing with her big sister, so I am going to be sad that she is lonelier without her, especially on the days that she does not get to go to preschool (she only goes 3x a week). I am not looking forward to packing lunches, to making sure everyone has their appropriate gear e.g. rain coats, boots, etc – we will have to pay closer attention to the weather since it can change so much in one day here. I am not looking forward to getting up and ready in the mornings, or to all the hectic scheduling that will soon be upon us – classes, choir, basketball practices and games etc. Shall I go on?? 😉 I am sure once we are back in the swing of things I will be fine! 🙂
