Winning the Battle Between Kids and Bandages

Much like newborn calves {or another other cute baby animal}, who wobble and fall on newfound legs – springtime brings out the same in kids. Man, take off the winter layers of clothing and introduce warmer seasonal play, and multiple injuries happen!

Skinned knees from playing sidewalk chalk, blistered heels from wearing sneakers again – you name the day and I’ll share a cut or scrape to go with it. Despite the ladder for easy entrance and exit, my child instead stumbled her way off the trampoline last week like it wasn’t even there at all.

“Mom! I need a bandage!” is common words spoken, especially this time of year.

Yet bringing out the bandages is another battle in itself. One painful removal means years of struggle using them, of course. If that isn’t enough, combine that with sensitive skin, whereas the sticky part irritates the skin so much that it creates another level of complaints. Alright, I can’t argue with this, it happens to me as well.

Kids and bandages – they need them, but they don’t want them; it’s irritating to remove it, but they don’t want to because it’s going to hurt.

Rinse and repeat.

Welcome to parenting.

The Nexcare™ Sensitive Skin portfolio is adding a new member to its family – Nexcare™ Sensitive Skin Bandages.

They are designed with patented silicone adhesive technology providing secure hold and pain-free removal. They harness 3M’s innovative medical and adhesive technologies to provide the ultimate level of protection, and the island pad is surrounded by a 360-degree adhesive seal that blocks dirt and germs.

nexcare sensitive skin bandages review

I recently tried Nexcare™ Sensitive Skin bandages for the first time. Actually, they were needed the very day they arrived at our home {imagine that}. The assorted packs offer three sizes, which is fantastic {tip, buy an extra to keep in the car!}. These bandages stay on remarkably well, considering I had to negotiate it’s removal days later. On that note, there was no issue in the removal and it didn’t irritate my daughters sensitive skin like some other bandages do. In parenting you gotta take one small victory at a time!
