It took me many years of making canned soup to realize just how easy homemade soups were to make – and how much better they tasted. Two fine examples are my Slow Cooker Loaded Baked Potato Soup and Roasted Tomato Soup recipes. All best paired with these easy Baking Powder Biscuits.

They are beyond amazing, and so much better than store-bought prepared soups. Plus, you get the bonus of having so much for leftovers, as most freeze very well.

This Slow Cooker Three Cheese Broccoli Soup is a soup recipe that is so much better than canned, any day. Hands down, the flavour is outstanding.

This is the perfect comforting soup for those cold winter days, so easy to make and oh so satisfying! I love that you can make homemade soup for lunch, dinner or to send for school lunches. It’s delicious variety that beats the boredom that’s for sure.

Slow Cooker Cheese and Broccoli Soup

Fall is one season when I absolutely crave soups, even more-so than the winter months. Something that isn’t too filling like a lot of winter-recipes can be, but a warm-up in the belly that keeps the chill away.

When the wind blows crisp leaves and there’s a sudden chill in the air – warming up with a bowl of soup and an oversized sweater is way better than cranking the thermostat. It is a fine way to end the day.

This Slow Cooker Three Cheese and Broccoli Soup recipe is full of broccoli and cheeses, 3 kinds in fact! It’s so creamy and rich – exactly what a nice soup should be.

I also love that this is a slow cooker soup, it’s so convenient for those days when activities have me out in that brisk weather for hours. Coming home to a ready-made meal like is just can’t be beat.

Making crockpot soup also saves a trip through the drive thru out of desperation. Either way you look at it, it’s a win/win.

Enjoy! Don’t forget to check out my Instant Pot Soup recipes, I have a couple that are simply amazing!

  18. I added a package of bacon first. Sauted that, then the onion and garlic. No butter needed. Made this in my pressure cooker. It has a saute mode. Then I switched the pressure cooker to slow cooker. I used 6oz parmesan, 8 oz sharp cheddar, and 12 oz of colby jack cheeses. I used 1.5 pounds of broccoli including the stems that were sliced about 1/4 inch thick and diced. Yum!
