Easy Halloween Treat Bags for Dogs

This is the first Halloween for Charlie, our King Charles Cavalier, and our first ever Halloween with a puppy in tow. Since he came into our lives last winter, he’s become very much apart of our family and goes wherever we go. Camping, on walks, school pickups, we involve him in our usual day-to-day events. He’ll even be in the Christmas card photo this year!

So it only goes without saying that Charlie will very much be apart of our Halloween festivities this year. Even though Halloween is still weeks away, I’ve been thinking about how to celebrate involve him in our Halloween celebration. Of course he’ll have a cute costume for the traditional trick or treating, though there’s so many adorable options –  I just can’t decide on what he should be!

I recall from previous years that many kids come to the door trick or treating, with their families and their dogs with them. So, why shouldn’t dogs get a special treat too? They should be actively apart of all the excitement as well!

This Halloween I’ll be prepared with treats for the kids, and the furry friends who come to our door – with these Halloween Treat Bags for Dogs which are so super simple to make!

All you need is some small burlap bags {frugal buy at the dollar store}, a black permanent marker, festive Halloween ribbon, and some Big Heart Pet Brands {Milk-Bone, Pup-Peroni and/or Milo’s Kitchen} dog treats.

Take each burlap bag and using the black permanent marker, draw some paw prints on the front. Easy peesy!

Then, fill each bag with some delicious dog treats. Our Charlie loves Milk-Bone, Pup-Peroni and Milo’s Kitchen – so I chose both the hard Milk-Bone biscuits and the soft treats, as well as some Pup-Peroni. You might have to snap the Pup-Peroni in half to fit into the bag.

As you can see, Charlie was very curious as to what I was doing with his favourite treats, and made sure to supervise what I was doing. His assistance in this easy DIY project was rewarded! Mmmm!

Once you have each bag filled with Big Heart Pet Brands dog treats, tie a piece of Halloween ribbon around each one, and you’re done!

Making this easy Halloween Treat Bags for Dogs literally takes minutes, so it’s perfect for even the non-crafters out there. I cannot wait to give goodies to both kids and their furry family members when they visit us this Halloween – it’s a small DIY project with big results!

This Halloween season don’t forget to treat the pups too!

Create the perfect Halloween treat for your pup with any Milk-Bone, Pup-Peroni and Milo’s Kitchen products; a proven favourite treat for dogs:

  • Milk-Bone®: Wholesome and delicious treats you can feel good about giving.
  • Milos Kitchen®: Home-style dog treats made with 100% real chicken or beef.
  • Pup-Peroni®: Real Meat is the #1 ingredient with a mouthwatering aroma that dogs simply can’t resist.

Milk-Bone, Pup-Peroni and Milo’s Kitchen products are available at Walmart, and their site also has more DIY inspiration as well.

This is such an awesome idea Tammi! A lot of people do bring their pets with them and I’m sure they enjoy a treat on a special occasion like Halloween too. Most pet owners dress their pets up for Halloween too so it’s only right 😉

I love the idea of Halloween treat bags for dogs! The apartment complex we used to live would always have treats for the dogs for just about every holiday and I thought it was the most clever thing. Let’s just say our dogs were spoiled.

What a cute idea to give treats for dogs on Halloween! Sometimes I see dogs get dressed up too – haven’t they earned a treat for having to go out in public like that?

I give out treats to the animals every Halloween but never thought to make cute little bags. Going to try to make some of them; lots of animals in my area
