Join Rediscover Nature Day and Win a Trip to Banff!

This summer we made it a priority to get outside and take advantage of each sunshiny day. Armed with our bucket list of things we wanted to do and see, and inspired by the eye-opening 3 Generations video – I’m happy to report that we succeeded in our mission to rediscover nature!

I look back at the things we did together, and the wonderful photos captured from these last couple of months; and I’m amazed just how much time we spent outdoors this summer.

Now with school back in swing plus all the activities starting to fill our evenings, I’m hoping that we still have opportunities to spent time outside.

Already the days are getting darker and there’s a definite chill in the air, and we’ve opted to stay inside a lot lately, which is such a change from these previous weeks.

I’m not a fan of winter weather {that’s saying it mildly}, so spending time outdoors in the summer is so much easier that the months to come. Yet life can’t be all about routine and doing what the paper on the fridge tells you. There is beauty in the other seasons, and we need to experience that, and not looking through the kitchen window.

My plan is to take advantage when we can, and develop a new bucket list of things we’d like to do outdoors together. It’ll be a chance to connect further, get some exercise, fresh air – and push myself out of my comfort zone a bit. That’s not a bad thing, right? Perhaps we just need that little encouragement in order to do so.

Rediscover Nature Day is on September 20, and it’s a designated day to get outdoors and connect with nature for at least 1 hour, if not longer. It’ a reminder that while the summer is over, there’s a whole lot of nature to be taken in, all year long.

How will you spend that hour outside?

Nature Valley has partnered with Colin Harris, founder of Take Me Outside, a non-profit organization that champions children spending time outside, being active and connecting to nature.

They have joined forces to host a Rediscover Nature Day contest – with a wicked grand prize sponsored by Banff Lake Louise Tourism.

As someone who has lived on the cusp of the Canadian Rockies all her life, this is a contest you need to enter! We are lucky that we have the opportunity to travel to Banff and Lake Lousie frequently.

If you haven’t yet been, you are truly missing one of the most beautiful places here in Canada. Myself and my family have spent countless time in both Banff and the Lake Louise area {and have blogged about it often!}. It’s a place where life’s chaos slows down and the surroundings fill your entirety with peace – breathtaking each time.

I concur, the Banff and Lake Louise areas is where nature is truly at it’s finest, and deserves to be at the top of any bucket-list. This time of year is gorgeous too, the vibrant Fall colours set against the green pine and white mountain tops is nothing short of spectacular. I do so love #MyBanff!

If you haven’t yet visited this Albertan gem, you now have that chance! So, RSVP for Rediscover Nature on Sept 20 and share those photos with #RediscoverNature and #MyBanff.

I am compensated for my part in the #RediscoverNature campaign from Nature Valley. Opinions, as always, are 100% my own.
