Canada Prepares for the Rio Summer Olympics #WannaPlayChat

The 2016 Rio summer Olympics is just over a year away, and Canada’s Olympic team is preparing before they take the #‎RoadtoRio‬.

I can’t imagine the excitement and hard work {in training} involved in prepping for the Olympics. We watch as much as we can each time and I’m always amazed by the abilities.

Do you know any Canadian athletes who have participated in this sport in recent times or are on the #RoadtoRio for the first time?

How to involve the entire family in the countdown to the 2016 Rio Summer Olympics.

  • Look at the list of summer Olympic sports  – set up and host a mini backyard Olympics!
  • Work on a specific skill and try to see how with practice you can improve throughout the year. Before next year’s Olympics, get your family to try again to see if they can beat their personal best.
  • Make sure to take pictures and keep score – and next summer when Team Canada heads to the Olympics, you can get your ‘athletes’ to see if they can beat their personal bests from this year.

As we countdown to the 2016 Rio Summer Olympics and start cheering on our athletes, is there a better way than to celebrate than with a party?

Join Canadian Tire, who is a proud sponsor of the Canadian Olympic Committee (COC), for a Twitter party on August 5th as this date is the official start of the countdown!
