Pay it Forward with the Canadian #SuitDrive and Moores

Think of all the occasions and events that immediately make you stress about ‘what to wear’. It’s a fact that first impressions are crucial, and with that, professional attire does make a difference when it comes to confidence.

Yet what about those that simply cannot afford to dress up in professional clothing to look their best, for when it matters most?

I’m not going to beat around the bush with this post, guys, I have one pretty awesome pay it forward initiative to tell you about. So, grab a cuppa and settle in, as I’m sure this is something that you’ll want to support for many reasons.

Give a Suit – Change a Life

From now until July 31st, The Moores’ 2015 Canadian Suit Drive provides gently used professional clothing to unemployed Canadians.

Canadians can donate men’s suits, shirts, jackets, pants, ties, belts and shoes as well as women’s professional clothing at any of the more than 120 Moores Clothing For Men stores across the country. As a thank you for donating, customers will receive 50 per cent off the regular retail price of their next purchase from Moores (excluding shoes, clearance, and exceptional value items).

Clothing collected at Moores stores will be distributed to more than 60 local recipient organizations across Canada that provide job-ready skills, training and seminars to disadvantaged men and women entering or re-entering the work force.

NHL superstar, John Tavares believes in the cause, so much so that’s he’s offering his support to help spread the word. “I’m thrilled to support the Canadian Suit Drive and help men and women in our communities acquire the confidence needed to get back to work, while wearing the appropriate attire,” Tavares said. “A positive first impression is very important when you walk into an interview. When I show up to a game, wearing a nice suit, I’m prepared to take on any challenge I may face on the ice. The Canadian Suit Drive is something I am proud to support – to give self-confidence back to fellow hard-working Canadians.”

moores suitdrive campaign 2015

Moores’ Canadian Suit Drive has collected 231,470 clothing donations since it began five years ago, and has made a difference in many people’s lives.

Eric was a 2014 recipient who benefited from a suit donation and, in turn, helped others. “The Canadian Suit Drive absolutely helped me make a strong first impression, which became a lasting impression, and helped me secure a full time role as an international teacher,” says Eric. “I’d like to pay it forward and help spread the news of this important cause. There are many people, like me, who have benefited from this amazing campaign.”

DONATE TO #SUITDRIVE AND GET SOCIAL

Show your support and share the #SuitDrive post found on the Moores Facebook page. For every share, the company will donate $1 {up to $25,000} to the local nonprofits they have partnered with. It’s an easy way to give a suit, and change a life. ]

The Canadian Suit Drive is now in it’s sixth year, and Moores has a goal to donate 75,000 articles of clothing before July 31st – so let’s help make that happen, and raise the self-esteen of the Canadian workforce!

With that, there’s a twitter party coming up, and you’re invited to attend, converse, learn more, and help spread the word on this generous campaign. Here are the details:
