Dealing with Spring Sneezies

Disclosure: This post is sponsored by the makers of REACTINE®, yet as always, all thoughts and opinions are my own.

There’s nothing more exhilarating the beginning of Spring. It’s a time when the long winter months are finally in the past, and the promise of summer is at its peak. The temperatures are rising, the sun shines brighter, and you spend more time outdoors – while not covered head to toe in bulky clothing.

Early Spring is the ultimate feeing of a fresh start, don’t you agree?

It’s like awakening after an excruciatingly long hibernation.

Yet, look around and the beginnings of Spring aren’t that pretty to look at. Before the trees bud and the flowers poke through the soil, evidence of a dead winter is everywhere. It’s a time for recovery before the new growth.

spring allergy reflief

In my efforts to soak in all that is early spring, I inhale deeply and fully … and then sneeze.

I welcome the newfound season with all senses … and then my eyes water.

You see, as the snow starts to melt, more and more sorrowful brown grass peeks out from its prolonged winter suffocation yet it comes with a friend – snow mold. There’s no escape, since it’s literally everywhere. Plus, there’s all the dust and dirt from winter sanding that is thrust into the air with wind and vehicles.

It’s enough to make your eyes water – literally!

seasonal allergies

If that isn’t bad enough, people start mowing their lawns, and all that snow mold and dust is thrown into the air and make their way to those that are sensitive. These common allergens even sneak into your home, now that our windows are open again. Doh!

There are options when dealing with snow mold at the beginning of Spring and even pollen if you live in an area where this becomes an early problem. One solution is to not going outside at all until it’s all gone … Nope, that’s certainly not going to happen.

For myself, the only relief is to take allergy medication. To stop the sneezing, runny nose, and watery itchy eyes – I want a Springtime sidekick. By taking just one REACTINE®, I can have 24 hours of relief from allergy symptoms.

Reactine canada allergy medication

Their Pollen Forecast Indicator on the site is most helpful, allowing me to gauge when an allergy pill is needed, before the symptoms start. There are even coupons offered on the site for their customers!

allergy relief for kids

Since I’m a gal who doesn’t have the pleasure of having sick days {you know, kids and all}, I love that REACTINE® doesn’t cause drowsiness either.

Because I love early Spring and taking full advantage of all that it offers, I rely on REACTINE® to hold back the seasonal allergy symptoms, so they don’t hold me back.

What allergens affect you most in the early Spring?

I have a nephew who has horrible allergies once spring hits. His poor eyes are constantly watery and puffy. I will be sharing this with my sister to see if this would be more effective that the other over-the-counter medicines he uses.

Fortunately, my allergies don’t seem to be related to spring, so I can look forward to the nicer weather with no concerns about sneezing and watery eyes.

I have never heard of Reactine. I am definitely going to try it. Living in North Carolina our pollen is so bad on the sides of the road it looks like yellow snow. Makes a nice girl like me miserable haha. Thank you for sharing. Much appreciated.

Ragweed and Pollen always get us sneezing pretty badly this time of year. I have not heard of this brand and it seems like a great option for my family.
