2014 Month in Photos Album

As you know, I’ve been making and posting my Month In Photos here on My Organized Chaos, for just over a year now. My neighbour first introduced me to this idea, I instantly fell in love with this way of capturing all the best of each month, and easily turning those memories into a keepsake.

You see, I love all things ‘photo’ and the evidence of this is well documented. Up until 2009, I have pretty much every single photo I’ve ever taken in albums. Thus, I now have dozens upon dozens of albums … piled into huge storage totes. Because, where would you even put that many albums? Fail.

Then, I started making scrapbooks, which none are totally completed. Fail. Upon the discovery of photo-books, I dove in and have quite the pile of these as well. I do love these books, and though this aspect isn’t necessarily a fail, I haven’t had the time to keep on top of it. So, it’s a sporadic fail.

I struggle with what to do with photos, since I hate that all our memories are simply stored on hard drives and disks. They need to be showed off! Yet at the same time, I’m busy and I need something practical, easy, and doesn’t take up too much space in the house.

Month In Photos is the perfect solution! It’s easy to stick with, after all, I’ve been successfully making them for a year and a half now and don’t consider it to be at all time-consuming. My biggest tip is to dedicate a folder on your computer for each month, then when you take a great photo that deserves to be showcased, drop it in there. By months end, you won’t have to search for the photos to include in your collage, they’ll be ready and waiting.

Now, you could stop there and have your month in photos as a slideshow for your screensaver and shared with your friends and family on Facebook, emails or where ever you choose. Yet, I like my month in photos in my hand, just call me old school.

This is where Posterjack comes in. I recently printed all my 2014 Month in Photos, to make an album. Since I make each month in photos page in a 12×12 size, I easily ordered 12×12 satin matte poster print.

You do have options when ordering poster prints – from varying sizes, landscapes and shapes. You also can get frames, borders and add effects to your photo. Since I wanted all of my month in photos to match, I just ordered them as is, in original colour.

My month in photos prints arrived just a few days later, the quality amazing and on thick, quality paper. I picked up a scrapbook album, and in minutes I had all my photos in the book.

Since our year of best memories is 12 pages long, or 6 double-sided, I can also fit a few years worth into one book. Hows that for saving space?!

I love my 2014 Month in Photos Album, it’s better than I imagined. This is something I’ll continue making for years to come!
