On my to-do list for this Spring is to re-decorate the twins bedroom. They share a room, and the wall decor hasn’t changed since they were babies. Their names are in wooden letters on their wall as is a couple wall decals with cute sayings about baby girls.
I have wanted to make it more ‘big girl’ to match their bulky furnishings, which do take up the majority of the space. My procrastination on re-doing their room has been due to not knowing what exactly to do with the space. I’ve been waiting for inspiration.
When ordering prints from Posterjack a couple weeks ago, I landed on a photo of my twins together. Their smiles, their hug, the beauty of the photo itself – it’s indeed one of my favourites of them.
I stared at the photo for some time and then wandered into the girls room and had a look around. The twins had propped a few photos of their classmates and friends on their dresser. Another, of their bestie, hung beside the closet. This told me they loved being surrounded by photos of those they adore.
The photo which I call ‘Twin Sister Love’ was the inspiration I was looking for all along. I decided that in their room re-do, I’d hang a few simple yet classic photos to show love, friendship, and caring. I’d start with a framed art piece, of them together.
I ordered a classic black gallery frame, with a black and white finish on the image. With vibrant coloured comforters and accessories, combined with neutral walls, I thought it best to keep the frames and prints simple and eye-catching.
As always, I appreciate that framed art from Posterjack comes ready to hang.
The result, is one beautiful photo that I and the girls love. It’s the start of their new room, a place to rest and play together as sisters.
After many years, I’m happy to have this inspiration and the start to a cozy new space in the house. I’ll keep you updated on the final look once it’s all put together!
