All-Natural Sugar Alternative – #XylaHealthyEating Twitter Party

There are times in my life that I’ve sought out sugar alternatives. Most of those times is when I’m trying to cut down on my sugar intake, after realizing just how much I’ve been consuming. Yet, cutting out sugar entirely makes it a bland world, right? So instead, I find alternative ways to get my sweet fix, and not reach for the high-calorie traditional sugar.

For myself, it’s a choice. Yet for those with diabetes, finding that alternative is a must. Yet let’s face it, ‘reports say’ change daily, and choosing one right for you – can be difficult. I’ve always kept in mind that a great sugar alternative must be all-natural and FDA approved. Oh, and since I refrain from that bland world – it has to taste good as well.

This is where Xyla® xylitol comes in

Xyla xylitol is an all-natural sugar alternative with no additives. It looks, tastes, cooks and bakes just like sugar {with no aftertaste}, and is wheat free, gluten free, vegan and diabetic friendly. With 40% fewer calories than sugar and 75% fewer carbs than sugar, Xyla xylitol can aid in weight loss and won’t spike those insulin levels.

Xyla® xylitol is made from 100% sustainable North American Hardwood unlike other xylitol that is produced from corn. Not only is it approved by the FDA, but also the World Heath Administration, American Diabetes Association and endorsed by multiple dental associations.

Xyla xylito is supported by many dental associations because it inhibits plaque formation and dental capabilities by up to 80%. It also remineralizes tooth enamel, increases saliva production, and helps maintain a ph neutral level in the mouth which is inhospitable to destructive bacteria. It also has the ability to inhibit the growth of bacteria that causes middle ear infections in young children.

Xyla is available in packets, bulk, bags, and containers as you’d expect and want. Yet, what about food items that don’t call for ‘add your own sugar’? Sure I love that sweetness in my coffee – yet I also like BBQ sauce, syrup, jam and more. Who wants to avoid these as well?! That’s why it’s so great that the Xyla brand extends to more than 75 products including jam, sauces, ketchup, candy, mints, gum and more.

So, you could use Xyla xylitol in homemade marinades and sauces, or if you don’t have time to whip up your own marinade, use Xyla’s readymade condiments like Xyla ketchup, Xyla Sesame Teriyaki Sauce and Xyla BBQ sauce.

Xyla products

Xyla replaces sugar 1:1 in any recipe, and slips easily into any diet. If brown sugar is in order you can mix 1⁄4 cup molasses with 3⁄4 Xyla xylitol.

Xyla xylitol can be purchased online and at many local grocery and health food stores like Loblaws, London Drugs, Bulk Barn and more. You can also purchase at independent health food stores. Click here to find the store nearest you!

  2. This is really educational. I had never heard of Xyla before. Interesting that it is made from hardwood. I need something to help me cut sugar. I have a high threshold for sugary snacks and it really needs to be kept in check. It’s my guilt pleasure even when I work out like crazy I reach for sugary chocolatey snacks or fudge. So very bad. I will look for this product in stores. Thanks for letting me know about it.
