Helping Provide Clean Drinking Water to Children: #cleanwater Photo Challenge

Have you heard about the Clean Drinking Water program?

CleanWater_program

This program is helping provide clean drinking water to children in the developing world through a water purifying technology developed by P&G.

Technology? It’s pretty cool, guys, one small purification packet quickly turns 10 litres of dirty, potentially deadly water into clean, drinkable water!

Best of all? You can help donate, just with your everyday purchases!

Screen Shot 2014-07-17 at 12.51.31 PMFor every participating P&G product purchased at Walmart from May 1, 2014 to March 31, 2015, P&G will donate a day of clean drinking water to someone in need.

To help bring the program even closer to its goal of donating 25 million litres of water {!!} in a 12 month-period, P&G and Walmart will once again open the program up to include every P&G product from July 16 – 31, 2014.

I love this, what a great program!

So, I’ll be showing my support by participating in a  two week #cleanwater photo challenge with the Children’s Safe Drinking Water program and Walmart. For the next couple of weeks, I’ll be capturing and sharing images on Twitter for 14 days – showing everyone how clean water plays an important role in our everyday lives.

To see all the #cleanwater photos shared, check out the #cleanwater Pinterest board from fantastic Canadian blogger Stacie Vaughan {of Simply Stacie} and the P&G team.

We Canadians are very fortunate to have a nearly unlimited supply to clean water, and my kids most likely won’t know the results of not clean water. Yet, for many children around the world, this is not the case. It’s terribly sad that this necessity of life is not given to some. So, the next time I purchase P&G products, I love that it’s giving that necessity to a child, somewhere. Its really making a difference!

Keep this in mind when you are shopping next, and I urge you to share the #cleanwater photo challenge, you can play along too!

In fact, anyone can take part in this photo challenge – and doing so can win you a $250 Walmart gift card and a bundle of P&G products! Simply share your #cleanwater photo on Twitter and you’re entered to win!
