Spring Cleaning Your Home

This time of year, I along with many, want to open those windows and let some of that Winter stuffiness out. This includes tackling some tasks and cleaning projects around the home. Out with the old and in with the new! I love the time of year when I can swap {most} of the Winter gear for Summer – so refreshing to kick that buck to storage!

Yet, I almost loathe the term ‘Spring Cleaning’, since it’s the very last thing I want to do when we are in the depths of the season.

Instead, purge those closets and tackle the clutter right now, so that you are ready to be outside when the temps rise and stay that way – and so that you are not stuck in the house when others are enjoying the outdoors.

I tackle this by starting with one project/closet/room at a time so that I can have a clean and organized home without disrupting the entire house in the process. So far I’ve gotten all of our closets done {for clothes}, and am just now working on finding, washing and storing those winter hats, mitts and snowpants. I can’t pack up too much of this though, since we might need a few lightweight hats and mitts for chilly nights or for taking camping.

Part of my success is getting the kids into an outside activity while I work, so that they don’t re-mess what I’m cleaning or cause too many interruptions that I lose my motivation. They do help with small jobs, but when it comes to larger ones like these, I do prefer uninterrupted time to get the cleaning done and over with.

So, next on my spring cleaning list is washing the inside of the windows and the blinds, cleaning some appliances and I do believe I am done!

Frigidaire-canada-Smudge-Proof-Technology

Luckily, some spring cleaning tasks are easier than others. Take my Frigidaire Gallery Free Standing Range for example. The outside really doesn’t need much cleaning – ever – thanks to the patented Smudge-Proof™ Stainless Steel finish.

In fact, all Frigidaire Gallery® and Frigidaire Professional® stainless-steel appliances have a new anti-smudge technology that resists those little fingerprints and is easier to clean than traditional stainless steel surfaces. That way, I can have a smudge-proof kitchen and have one less thing on my must-clean list. Hooray for that!

Plus, my Range is a self-cleaning oven. So, literally I push that clean button before going to bed {making sure windows are open}. Then, come morning my oven is nice and clean. Hmmm, I really wish all my Spring cleaning was as easy as my Frigidaire appliance!

How is your spring cleaning going?

Spring cleaning….well, Hubby got me a Mother’s Day house cleaning and with three little boys, it’s already starting to look rough again. But it felt so good when it was so clean!

It would be awesome if we had more appliances to clean themselves like your range! Now if we can find something to clean the closets like that!

This is on my agenda to do this week. My poor appliances need cleaning asap and don’t mention closets lol. I agree everything looks so clean and shiny

I hate spring cleaning, but has to be done, and I love that button on the stove, my mistake is I forget to push it sometimes when it needs it..lol

Move the furniture and get all the dust bunnies that you don’t get to all year, open the windows and let the fresh air in.

I love spring cleaning, although we avoid using the self-clean function on the over (we tried it on our last oven, it got so hot it melted the circuit board!!)

I love spring cleaning but we have been so busy that we haven’t really finished it.
