Can I get a huge hooray for simplicity?

You are busy, I get it. Sometimes you have the time and energy for intricate baking and cooking, and at other times you don’t. Me too.

Yet, those times when I simply can’t be bothered is always when I need it most. Do you find the same?

Holidays, special occasions .. those are the times when I need to bring a snack or treat to school or functions, yet what I really need is simple since these times are busy enough on their own.

You just need to remember: Sometimes you needn’t complicate life, taking the easier route can have great results. You can bring that snack to school and have time to shower as well. Bold words, Tammi!

This Jelly Bean Candy Bark recipe is one treat that you can literally make in minutes. Plus, you only need 2 ingredients. Ahhh, now that’s my kind of recipe.

As well, you can totally customize this to suit the occasion. Use pastel Jelly Beans for Easter, red and green for Christmas or match the colours to the theme of a birthday party. It’s a recipe that will come in handy all year long!

Instead of a recipe, let’s call this a life hack. You’re welcome!

This Jelly Bean Candy Bark recipe is so versatile. Taking just a few minutes you can use pastel Jelly Beans for Easter, red and green for Christmas or match the colours to the theme of a birthday party. It's a recipe that will come in handy all year long!

Ingredients

  • 1 Bag of Wilton Candy Melts
  • 1 Bag of gourmet jelly beans {these were purchased at Michael's}
  • Parchment Paper

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, heat the candy melts in the microwave for 1 minute. Stir, and continue heating for 30 seconds at a time until the candy is smooth.
  2. Pour the candy melts onto a sheet of parchment paper and smooth them out. You can lay it flat on a cookie sheet or use a small pan with sides like we did here.
  3. Sprinkle jelly beans throughout the melted candy. Add a little extra than you think is necessary, because when you break it into bark pieces, some of the jelly beans will fall out.
  4. Let the candy cool completely.
  5. Once cooled, break the jelly bean candy bark into pieces.
