Mario Party Island Tour for Nintendo 3DS and 2DS

Handheld systems are my secret weapon in keeping my kids happy at ‘boring’ places like doctors offices, especially when I don’t want to carry around bags of little items like crayons and books. My girls love adding new games to their collection, so they were thrilled to learn that Mario Party Island Tour is now available on Nintendo 3DS and 2DS

Mario Party: Island Tour has 80 {!!} ‘Mini games‘ which are played solo and are great practice for learning all the moves before you hit the party mode. This was an especially good thing for the twins, to master up before gaming with their sister. That bring me to  ‘Party Mode‘ where there is 7 games, and you play with others. There are seven boards to choose from each a blast to play through and fun no matter how many people are playing.

Yet, the best part about Mario Party Island Tour is that you don’t actually need multiple Mario Party Island Tour cartridges to play with others as 1 cartridge allows you to play with up to 4 players! This feature is called Download Play and all you need is other Nintendo 3DS or 2DS devices that connect wirelessly .

Can I just say as a Mom of 3 how nice it is knowing that I need only get 1 copy?! All my girls can play this game together {or with friends} without the need of purchasing multiple cartridges.

My girls haven’t played every part of  Mario Party Island Tour yet, there’s just so much to this game. This means that it’ll be ‘new’ to them for a longer time than other games, and it won’t lose it’s entertainment anytime soon, especially since they can play with others.

Also, as a Mom of kids with differing ages, it’s nice that there are easier levels for my twins to enjoy and others that are more of a challenge for my 9 year old. Speaking of, she’s currently loving ‘Bowser’s Tower’ while the twins are all about racing games these days, so they head for ‘No Traction Action’ more often than not.

So, for the compatibility for multiple players with one cartridge and the variety and amounts of games included, Nintendo really has a winner with Mario Party Island Tour for Nintendo 3DS and 2DS.

I’ll conclude with the admission that I was beaten by my 9 year old at a game while we waited for the twins to finish their swimming class one day. Better brush up on my mini games, it’s on kids!!

Mario Party: Island Tour is rated E for Everyone and is available for Nintendo 3DS and 2DS. This is game is a perfect & fun gift idea for all occasions.
