Save money and get your craft on this holiday season with these DIY holiday decor ideas, with the help of Fellowes!

I have a few great ideas to spruce up your home this holiday season, without breaking the bank. Best of all, they are all super easy to make. Even the kids can get involved, making it a fun activity to get in the spirit, with that touch of ‘hey! I did that myself!”.

DIY-Holiday-Home-Decor-Ideas-Fellowes-Laminate

1 – Holiday Placemats

All you have to do is print this Snowman Placemat and laminate the page. Voila! I was going to cut around the image better, yet I like the full sheet size when compared the girls plates.

Sometimes they eat at their little kids table {especially when we have a lot of company}, yet it’s also their craft table which has seen better days.

The addition of these DIY holiday placemats really improves the look with no effort and adds that seasonal touch. Plus, they are in love with their new placemats. Sometimes’s it’s the little things, folks.

2 – Holiday Photo Frames

Taken from the handy Fellowes Idea Center, I found some Christmas Frames! Print, laminate and done! Since I change out photos so often, I decided to hold the photo in the frame with a couple pieces of clear tape. Again, tape or a magnet will work to hold them into place on the fridge or wherever you have a metal finish.

The many photos that take up space on the fridge are now paired with seasonal frames to give even the ordinary some festivity. The nice thing is that you can print all sorts of sizes of frames, ideal for those odd sized photos that you just don’t have frames for.

3 – Holiday Coasters

Just a nice simple touch when otherwise there would be without – Holiday Coasters! It’s as easy as print, laminate and cut and you have a fun addition to your holiday decor.

I love how vibrant the colors are with all my printables. The Fellowes laminator pouches don’t alter the colour of the paper at all!

 4 – Christmas Snowflakes

Do your kids make precious snowflakes as well? Mine sure do, yet they do get ragged and torn through the holiday season. So, after my girls cut out snowflakes from paper – I had a thought to preserve them forever!

Kids can personalize their snowflakes by colouring or drawing on them, then make sure to write their name, age and date on the back. After laminating, you have a snowflake that will last yet is also a keepsake. I really wish I had done this when my girls first learned to make their first snowflake. I wish I still had them! Now you can, Ho Ho Ho!

~~~
All of these easy to make holiday home decor ideas can be made with the Fellowes Cosmic2 125 Laminator! It heats up very quickly, has 2 settings for sheet type and best of all – the outside of the machine doesn’t get super hot to the touch. I used to have another brand of laminator that got so hot and took so long to cool down, I was almost scared to use it when the kids were home. So, heads up parents – this one is very family-friendly!
Product Information:
As you can see in the information above, the Fellowes Cosmic2 125 Laminator works well with varying sizes of pouches. Fellowes hit it out of the park with the wide assortment of laminating pouches offered. From large to standard, photo and even handy variety packs – it’s nice having so many sizes and types for all your laminating needs. This way, you can choose your size accordingly and not waste pouches.
You can get the Fellowes Cosmic 125 Laminator at Amazon.ca, walmart.ca and Costco.ca {sold as a bundle that includes an additional 52 assorted laminating pouches}.
Watch for more holiday ideas with Fellowes coming up on the blog soon, plus there’ll be a fab giveaway as part of my 2013 Holiday Gift Guide!
    Making place mats and then laminating is a great idea, Tammi. I have been looking for a plastic place mat for my cat but haven’t been able to find one in the right size and pattern. I would have much more fun by making my own.
