On Friday night, the girls and I had a very special time together. We went to Strawberry Shortcake: Follow Your Berry Own Beat!
Excitement was high that entire day, my kids were literally jumping for joy and eager for showtime. They didn’t know what to expect for the show, yet knew they would see beloved friends from TV and in books.
When the show started, kids {including my own} were silent. Jaw-dropping awe at the marvel that energized the stage. Yet, it only took a few minutes for the rush to reach their little bodies. Soon, hundreds of hands clapped, waved and danced in the chairs. You could hear tiny little voices surrounding you, chattering with friends in excitement. It was incredible.
The entire show kept the attention of all, kids watching in wonder and kids staring intently at their kids, taking in each moment of their kids happiness.
The show itself had a wonderful story of friendship and following your own dreams, with lively characters and many dance numbers. During the songs, kids would literally rush the stage, dancing up front and making new friends themselves. Yes, like a mosh pit comprised of 2-5 year olds!
Near the end of Strawberry Shortcake: Follow Your Berry Own Beat!, kids stayed in place right in front, not wanting to miss one minute. By the end, exhausted kids filed out of the auditorium, tired bodies with huge smiles.
While I won’t deny that the tiny screams gave me a headache, it’s worth the sacrifice. Seeing kids so happy, so involved with a production, is spectacular. Parenting is all about making memories. That’s exactly what my girls have, stories to tell of seeing the cast on stage and little purses that we purchased before the show. It really was a berry great time!
Check out the Tour Dates, there’s still plenty of shows coming to the BC area. Also, keep an eye on the happenings at Koba Entertainment, your source for fun family theatricals touring cities near you!
ABOUT THE SHOW:
