Connecting Families on Mother’s Day, Thanks to HP

Unlike years ago, people these days tend to live further distances from family. Cities, provinces and even countries apart. Most of our immediate family does live in the same city, yet we have many friends and even family that are spread out everywhere. Years ago, it was huge events like weddings that got us all together, to see each others’ faces and really connect. Now, thanks to technology, you can connect like never before – strengthening bonds even across distance.

We used to connect with others via long distance phone calls, I recall trying to find time when each party would be home. This resulted in much ‘phone tag’ and frustration. Again, technology saves the day and brings people together, in ways like never before – and much cheaper than long distance calls.

HP Mother's Day

Thanks to HP, I got to surprise my Mother-in-law with a fantastic Mother’s Day present, one which was surely needed in their house.

Arriving at their door was a HP ENVY 23 Touchsmart All-In-One Desktop PC AND a HP ENVY 120 e-All-in-Printer. It arrived to them while we were on a family vacation in Mexico, yet I’m sure I could hear the screams of excitement from there.

HP Mother's Day

Not too long ago their old laptop crashed and they have been looking for a new PC to replace it. So, how awesome was the timing for this to come? It sure marryied an awesome surprise and gift with something that they really needed and wanted.

Truth be told, I can’t wait for them to see the capabilities of this dynamic duo and open up a whole new world for them, in easy communication and connection.

With the HP ENVY 23 Touchsmart All-In-One Desktop PC and HP ENVY 120 e-All-in-Printer, she also received the HP Printing Supplies Kit to use with her new PC and Printer. This kit includes:

  • High- capacity Original HP XL Ink cartridges that save up to 40% on your printing. Colours included: Black and Tri-color
  • HP Bright White Inkjet Paper (sustainably-sourced, FSC- certified paper with ColorLok technology for brighter colours, fewer smears and bolder blacks)
  • HP Advanced Photo Paper, Glossy, 4×6″

HP-Printing-Supplies-Kit

While my Mother-in-law has just scratched the surface when it comes to discovering all that their new HP products can do, we are here to teach and get them used to the latest technology. My daughter, who loves our HP Envy x2 Laptop/Tablet Hybrid as well as our own HP TouchSmart Desktop Computer {reviews at the links!} is the one eager to show her the ways as well.

Stay tuned for some great ideas and easy ways that we connected on Mother’s Day {which can be applied to any day, of course}. For now, here’s a little something we made for my Mother-in-law for Mother’s Day. It’ll be our first lesson for her, on how to make the most of her Hp products. So yes, more to come!

Have you checked out the Free Printable Cards at Snapfish yet?

We discovered a huge selection of nice Mother’s Day Printable Cards on the Snapfish website. The girls chose the card they thought Gramma would like, and I was shocked at how easy it was to make the card.

Uploading photos is fast, and you have many options for colors and font. Then, you click to print on matte or glossy paper {yet I used HP Everyday Photo Paper and they turned out fine}. I do use the everyday photo paper in a pinch, yet I do have to remember to get more glossy photo paper next time I’m at the store.

I print a lot of photos at home to make collages for the girls, which is why I’m always out! Who needs a trip to the store for developing?! heh.

Here’s how their card turned out – nice, right? I thought it was a great way to show love as well share a few photos from our trip to Mexico. Wait until she finds out how easy it is to print her own photos at home with her new HP printer! Better warn her to find more frames and space on the fridge!

I’m sure Gramma will love this card, just as how I loved the ease in making it. So, Spoiler alert … Gramma, don’t scroll down!

I love the card you made for your Mother in Law. I wish I’d thought of doing this in time for mine. What an incredible Mother’s Day present she’s gotten. Perfect for keeping up with family, printing out the photos you send her of the grandkids, and she’s going to learn a lot as you show her all it can do.

I used to more often years ago too, and got away from it. Now my oldest think it’s the greatest thing, so we do it more often. Happy to have gotten back into it, everything is a lot more ‘professional’ looking than years ago, that’s for sure!
