Fresh Start for Spring

Wouldn’t it be nice to have a fresh start for Spring?

A new house, new car, maybe a new baby? Easier said than done for most, since one of the biggest hurdles to having all those fresh starts this year, is money. New cars aren’t cheap and houses certainly aren’t. For some, even the possibility of having a little one join the family, is all about the lack of funds.

1 in 6 Albertans deal with infertility, and many of those turn to ‘In Vitro Fertilization’ {IVF} treatments as their only hope. Yet, they come with a huge cost, emotionally and financially.

With each IVF treatment costing approx. $13,000, it’s common for families to re-mortgage their houses and take on huge debt in order to try and have a child through IVF. Some even deplete their RRSP’s and drain their savings. Think of how this alone affects all aspects of life.

Spring is a season for new life, new hope and new possibilities.

It’s time for a fresh start for those struggling with infertility. It’s time for a fresh outlook.

Generations of Hope is advocating for better funding for IVF from the government and private employers. The Generations of Hope ABHC4IVF Campaign for Albertans funds needed for fertility treatments could come from the Alberta Government itself. And it would cost the province less than current protocol.

I urge you to sign this petition and inform our government that we support those needing IVF and would like to give them a fresh start. New hope with less burden.

For more information on publicly funded IVF, please follow @gensofhope on Twitter or the hashtag #ABHC4IVF.

.

I am proud to be apart of the Generations of Hope social media team, as I 100% support publicly funded IVF.
The opinions on this blog are my own, and mine only.

I think everyone deserves the right to a family and should be given every chance they need to make that a reality.

Infertility is something I wish nobody would ever have to deal with.

Thank you for spreading a bit of light on this subject. I know many families who have used IVF and didn’t realize it was that expensive.

I hope every season for our families to get a chance at starting their lives together as a family. Now we understand Poland has gone ahead with funding also to commence this summer. It makes so much sense for smart provinces to build the future with healthy families. Funding IVF is one clear way to do that.

My friend has been trying to start a family and had to endure the ridiculous cost of IVF. I fully support publicly funded IVF.

I think everyone who wants a baby should be able to have one, even if they need a little help with the process.
