Peter-Pan-bluray-review-giveaway

In stores today, is Disneys 60th Anniversary release of Peter Pan, soaring out of Disneys vault with a new digital restoration and high definition picture and sound. Personally, I don’t think Peter Pan has aged one bit since then … 😉

Did you know? Walt Disney reportedly played Peter Pan in a school play Sir James Barrie’s 1904 play, Peter Pan, or The Boy Who Wouldn’t Grow Up? Barrie himself adapted the play into the book Peter and Wendy in 1911, and Walt acquired the film rights in 1939.

peter-pan-review-giveaway

We got the Peter Pan Anniversary Diamond Edition Blu-ray Combo Pack {includes Blu-ray + DVD + Digital Copy & Storybook App}, which is packed with bonus features including the groundbreaking feature Disney Intermission, Growing up with Nine Old Men short film, never-before-seen Deleted Scenes and a never-before-heard Deleted Song.

Did you know? This film marked two “lasts” for Disney: first, it was the final Disney film in which all nine members of the Nine Old Men worked together on it as directing animators; second, it was the last full-length Disney animated film distributed by RKO Radio Pictures. All of Disney’s films after early 1954 would be distributed by Buena Vista, as well as all of the post-1954 re-releases of his earlier films.

My favorite, besdies the film itself of course, is the Growing up with Nine Old Men feature. I love learning behind-the-scenes information about all things Walt Disney and all the people that made the magic happen.

And now onto the film, Peter Pan:

The classic tale that taught us all “to believe” and first introduced us to the Darling children, Wendy, John and Michael, as they flew with Peter Pan & Tinker Bell past the second star to the right and straight on ‘till morning to the enchanted world of Never Land. Rediscover the magical adventure and relive childhood memories of this great bedtime story.

Our entire family was excited to get Peter Pan Anniversary Diamond Edition, with the belief to always stay young at heart and have fun. For my girls, they love the ‘pirate’ theme the most. It’s adorable to watch them re-enact the adventures from the film and pretend to fly around the house.

well, it of course stars Tinker Bell, the twins’ favorite Disney character. I love how their eyes light up when she’s on the screen. True belief!

Just be carefree! If I could be a kid for just one day I would spend the day playing checkers with my Grandfather…when he was alive and I was a kid I never really wanted to spend time playing checkers with him because I thought it was boring and I wanted to be outside with my friends..he’s gone and now I know what I missed out on!

My daughters bought me gum boots because I was always telling them I wished I could jump in the ouddles with them. So I’d go puddle jumoing if my day as a kid was a rainy one. If it was a sunny hot day I would spend the day in a lake or river just like I always did as a kid in the summers!
