What Would You Do With $50,000?

spending extra moneyWe’ve all done it. In fact, let’s do it right now.

What would you do with $50,000? {…happy daydream…}

Would you take the practical approach and put it towards things like bills or a mortgage? Perhaps you’d splurge and buy something you’ve always wanted yet couldn’t afford. Maybe a little both?

Myself, I think I’d combine want and need and get a new car. I’ve never been entirely thrilled with driving the silver rocket {aka, the minivan}. And while I’m grateful to have a vehicle at all, let’s face it, everyone and their parents drive a minivan. Someday I’d like to go back to a SUV {albeit a larger one this time}, and cozy into something newer and definitely a little fancier. So, $50,000 would bump up that ‘someday’ and make my daydream come true sooner rather than later.

On the other hand, the funds to travel more and experience the world is something anyone can relate to. A definite splurge is to hit the most prestigious and luxury of islands in Indonesia. I can picture myself relaxing in one of those adorable huts on stilts, hovering over crystal clear water. Ahhhh. Yet at the cost of thousands per day {eek}, it’s something attainable only if someone handed me $50,000 to do with what I wished.

So, what would you do with an extra $50,000?

But first, know that your daydreams can come true. Yes!

    Ooh, fifty grand? I would put some away for a TFSA (well, start one). Treat my family to dinner. Buy a sewing machine. Save some for a trip. And simply squirrel away the rest…rainy day fund, I suppose? It would be put to good use, that much I know. 😀

    U usually daydream about winning $100,000 but $50,000 is definitely worth daydreaming about. I think I’d be part practical and part fun.

    No dreaming here. Pay off existing debts and there’s a bit left to add to the retirement fund.

    OOoooh! That would be a new beginning for my family! 30K on a downpayment on a house, 10K on a vehicle and then the rest in savings.
    Good Reason to start buying Royale! is it easy on the sewer system?

    I would probably be boring and put most of it away and invest it. But first, I would splurge a little on my family. Perhaps a trip somewhere or a nice gift for each person.

    I’d put it towards paying off all our bills and car payment and student loans–it would be great to not worry about that.

    Most dedicated nurses today are offering, the costs and man-hours than will the contractors it is actually incumbent on you.

    If you are the unlicensed contractors company could provide quality roofing and
    contracting officers away from the IRS.
