Netflix Canada

According to a new survey from Netflix, over half (58 per cent) of households with children reported that they watch movies together during the holidays. Along with Holiday dinners, cooking, baking and shopping, watching TV and movies together is a new holiday tradition!

I have to nod my head ‘YES’ to that statement, watching movies together during the holidays especially is just as frequent as many of the other traditions that take place during the season.

I can’t imagine a holiday flick NOT playing in the background while we bake, or visit with family on Christmas Eve. In fact, just last weekend we set up the tree while watching ‘Elf’ on Netflix. It’s always our kids’ ‘duty’ to pick something on Netflix while I get out all the decorations from under the stairs. Just as the movie was finishing, so were we in our decorating. Then, we lit the fire and chose another movie to relax to, while admiring the newly decorated tree and drinking hot chocolate. It really was the perfect day.

I love having Holiday movies serve as a backdrop for OUR household during the Holidays too, but we don’t get anything from Netflix anymore. We have DISH now, and love the Blockbuster @ Home movie package for all our film needs. We’ll also be recording all of the classic favorites (Rudolph, Grinch, Muppets) on the big four networks, and my new Hopper DVR from DISH has enough tuners to handle it all! I love watching the holiday movies with my wife and kids; it’s just difficult finding the time, and even more frustrating trying to set a bunch of DVR timers to catch them all! I work a lot of hours at DISH, and using the DVR is pretty important to us, so when I learned PrimeTime Anytime would automatically record all the primetime shows from the big four networks, and still has two extra tuners for watching/recording other shows, I knew I had found the right DVR for my needs! And, since the Hopper has 2,000 hours of storage space, I’ll be able to pick and choose our favorites, and save them until next year!
