Britax Frontier Car Seat

Britax Frontier Car Seat. As all you parents will know, having kids means having a ton of baby and kid gear. As you well know, I love a multi-use item and Britax has convertible car seat and booster in one product {yet it’s still tops when it comes to car seat safety}!

This is the main feature of the Britax Frontier XT SICT car seat, it can be used for ages 2 and up, for forward-facing all the way up to 65 pounds, and as a booster seat {using the vehicle’s lap-shoulder belt} up to 120 lbs! This means that you can also use a 5 point harness for a longer period of time {versus the weight maximums on other seats}, thereby ensuring safety while traveling.

The twins, at 4.5 years old, were getting too uncomfortable in their convertible car seats. Their knees went beyond the seat edge and the straps were getting tight, much complaining from the ensued. Yet, I still wanted the safety of the 5-pt harness, the safest way for kids to travel in cars.

Britax sent us {and introduced us to} the Frontier XT SICT. It has all the same features and specs of the XT {which my 8 year old uses}, yet it also has Side Impact Cushion Technology (SICT) for advanced side impact protection.

Also, it has an Easy-Remove Cover that can be removed for cleaning without disassembling the harness or uninstalling the seat from your vehicle.

The Quick-Adjust Head Restraint & No-Rethread Harness easily adjusts the harness shoulder height and head restraint without disassembling the harness {I always loathed that with other seats}. This makes it easier as your child grows, and allows for a more accurate and safe fit for the child.

I find this helpful since my twins are at different heights. So, for safety, I can very easily adjust the seat depending on which of my children is going to sit in the seat.

‘True Side Impact Protection’, means the design transfers energy away from the child into the padded seat during a crash. You’ll notice this from the image of the seat, the side cushioning is a superior feature!

Ask the girls what is their fave and they are going to say the cup holders. For myself, they are comfortable, still in that 5-pt harness and are safe.

Best of all, it might very well be the last car seat we own, since they can also use the Frontier as a booster down the road.

WIN IT: One reader is going to get a Britax Frontier XT SICT car seat, arv $339.99!

  98. OUr family would really like the B-Agile Double! My 20 year old daughter has a lil’ girl. Her sister had a very premature baby just two weeks after HER baby was born. Well, my daughter was working at a day care and decided to quit in order to provide day care for the little guy, as his immune system was so weak and not allowed into day care centers. This daughter also cares for two little toddlers just once a week each. So, THAT is a lot of toddling and needing places to go and things to see. We have a park near but not a good way to get 2-4 toddlers there at once. We do have a wagon that fits two, but they are kind of little yet to stay in there. This stroller could provide room and safety to get the little ones out and NOT have my daughter struggling to use a front pack for one and put the other in the wagon/stroller. It’s crazy when you just dont have the baby gear you need. I don’t know how moms of multiples do it!

  99. The B-Agile double stroller would be great because we are planning on trying for a second baby soon.

  105. the frontier 85 would also suit my child because she’s almost big enough for a booster. I prefer to have here shoulder strapped in.

  150. I love the entire Britax car seat line. Wishful thinking would bring me a new baby in a CowMoo infant seat, but I would really love to have Maui blue Frontier for my five year old.

  151. The booster seat would work for my older DD (6). She’s still in a 5 pt harness (she’s 41 lbs) and she’ll likely stay in until she’s 65lbs or too tall. Although she would LOOOOVVVEEE to be in a booster! πŸ™‚

  152. I’m going to have to turn my granddaughter, who is almost 5, from rf-ing to ff-ing soon and this seat would be perfect for her. I actually wish they made a seat that allowed me to keep her rf-ing longer than 40#. I also like the Blvd 65 seat. ty for the giveaway!

    1. Oh and the why part is b/c that was one of the seats that the ‘fit my child’ widget gave me. πŸ™‚ I’ve also heard great things about it, but that can be said of all Britax.

  156. I’m a HUGE Britax fan. We have the Boulevard and the old Frontier. The Frontier is definitely my preference when it comes to the “big kid” convertible car seat. I’ve also tried the Safety 1st Alpha Omega Elite and the Graco Nautilus and there’s just no contest – the Britax wins hands-down. I really need a second one for my daughter who’s ready for this amazing seat.

  160. No word of a lie, I could actually use TWO of these Britax Frontier XT SICT car seats! I am so tired of the crappy one I bought for my son when it was on sale, and before I knew anything about baby gear! At 4 years old it is far too small for him and lacks support for when he falls asleep. I cringe every time I see his head lolling around in the back seat. I’d love to junk that one and try out the Frontier for both my older son and younger daughter!

  161. just bought a Britax car seat for my 1 year old. We love it! I feel bad for my 3 year old daughter because she sure doesn’t look as comfy as he does! would love to win this for her.

  162. The B-AGILE would be perfect for me and my son. It is lightweight so it would be easy to get in and out of my car by myself.

  163. the B-Ready Stroller would be great for my niece! Her stroller wheel doesn’t work too well

  164. Frontier XT. Looks compact enough for my little car. My almost 4 year old is hitting his head on the canopy of his current car seat.

  165. The B-Agile would be of interest to me. My daughter`s Roller Derby instructor is pregnant and I would love to find a stroller that would keep her active once the baby arrives πŸ™‚

  166. the head and body support pillow would be handy.would save on straining necks and better rest

  167. This would be great for my new granddaughter. It will be there when she is ready for it. It is very versatile and is one that will be great for long term safety.

  168. I have my first Grandbaby arriving at the end of Febuary or begining of March..!!…Hoping to win this…:)

  169. I have two boys in car seats and I think my youngest would work well with the roundabout 55

  170. My daughter is going back to work after having baby Isabella and I’ll be babysitting so the B-Agile Stroller would come in really handy for all of the walks we’re going to take together! The Frontier Car Seat would come in really handy for my car so I can take her to playdates.

  171. i’m loving the B-AGILE stroller! it would be great for taking the kids to the park!

  172. Perfect for my great grand daughter who will be 2 soon. The other needeed item would be a booster seat for my 6 and y yeart old grandsons.

  173. I would love the Britax baby carrier!!
My little one is too big for the Baby Bjorn (it’s uncomfortable), and doesn’t like the restriction of the Moby, but I’d love to still be able to wear her instead of carrying her around πŸ™‚

  174. I’d love to win the Britax be ready stroller and the 2nd seat for it for my 2 babies! Would definatley come in handy, not to mention the littles woud totally be riding in style! Hope you had a Happy New Year and thank you for the chance to win this amazing carseat! πŸ™‚

  175. Any of their booster carseats would be perfect..my daughter is getting a bit big for ours and ours is very old.

  176. The BRITAX CAR SEAT TRAVEL CART for traveling through airports with your car seat and child in tow!

  177. Britax B-Agile Stroller because my daughter doesnt have a stroller and it would be great for going out

  178. Probably the Frontier 85 SICT seat or maybe the Parkway SGL. I am in the market for a highback booster, but my little on isn’t quite heavy enough for the Parkway yet…

  179. I think the Frontier seat would be the best product for us right now. We have both the Marathon and advocate car seats but even at 4, our son is still too small for a regular booster seat but starting to get a bit too big for his convertible seat.

  180. I’d love the Parkway SG! Love the boosters with a back! I’ve got two boys and one will need this so One of the moms in my #mommy and #baby group called me The Baby Whisperer today because of some advice I gave her. Maybe I should consider a career change!!! younger can enjoy his new seat that mommy won in this giveaway!!!

  181. I’m looking for a nice gift for a special niece – the B-NIMBLE stroller is another item that would suit her needs very well.

  182. I really can uses this car seat I am a grandmother and I baby sit a lot, we only have one car seat so we are always changing cars, it will be so nice to have this one.
I also love the Britax chaperone stroller.

  183. This would be perfect for my future grandchild because we dont have one yet and this seems very safe
    B-NIMBLE

  184. I Like the MARATHON 70-G3 it is a grow with me car seat and will be for baby from birth on.

  185. The boulevard 65-g3 because I just went to my daughter’s one year doc appt and was told she needs to be rear-facing until age 2!

  186. As a Grandma safety for my grandchildren is a priority. This car seat is perfect and I would love to have the booster seat as well. Thanks.

  187. I have four kids under the age of 7 so I’m always needing carseats. I also would love the B Agile STroller.

  188. The B-AGILE DOUBLE stroller…Because I watch my nieces alot and they are young and this would be great to use when we go up town…

  189. The B-Ready Eclipse stroller. I especially like that it has adjustable height on the handles because I’m too tall for ours
    thank you

  190. The B-Agile Double Stroller would be EXTREMELY helpful. In April I’m having my daughter and her older sister will be 1&1/2 at that point. It’d be easier to take them around together. πŸ™‚ Thanks for this giveaway.

  191. I would love any one of their 5 point harness car seats.. i have 2 in boosters and 2 in toddler seats!!

  192. B-AGILE stroller so i could always have one here for the grandkids

  193. oops-forgot to add in my previous comment above it would be great for my son because it is much safer than some other car setas since it has a 5 point harness

  194. We could really use the Vehicle Seat Protector…my daughter is very messy and staining our seats!

  195. Currently we are looking for a new stroller so this one would be perfect for us. the
B-AGILE DOUBLE because it would help us get around!

  196. The Boulevard would also fit our needs for my youngest son. His older Britax Diplomat seat is smaller

  197. The vehicle seat protector… Why did I never think to look something like that up? I’m on kid #4 now, so the damage is done… but if only I had known! I’m giong to recommend that to anyone who has kids now.

  198. I could really use the vehicle seat protector. With my first son, I didn’t realize the damage car seats can do to the car until we removed the seat. I definitely don’t want to make that mistake again!

  199. With two kids, I need a sturdy double stroller..the Britax B-Agile Double Stroller looks wonderful!

  200. I’d love to have the Britax Stroller Organizer to keep me more organized & make it easier to find items I need

  205. Thank you for the opportunity! I would love to win this seat for my daughter. We love Britax!

  206. Great review, and very accurate I assume. Both of my kids are in Britax carseats (I can’t quite remember what models!) and I love both of them!! I have much better piece of mind driving as well knowing that I have them in as safe of a carseat as I could find. πŸ™‚
