Edmonton’s Capital Ex 2012

Yesterday my family and I took on Capital Ex 2012 in Edmonton. One huge exposition and amusement park, it was a fun-filled day for us all. So many photos to share, so be forewarned – this is a photog-filled post. Yet, in words, here are the highlights that you won’t want to miss:

The Aluminum Show {aka, awesome}. Really, kudos to all involved with this show, it was spectacular. Interactive, music, lights and a great storyline, my family and the entire audience were all smiles and applauds.

Family Fun Town ~ Inside the Expo centre, there is a whole hall devoted for little ones with animals, bounce houses, crafts, shows and so much more. We spent a lot of time here and even got a sneak peek at Strawberry Shortcake and her gang. The girls loved the Construction Zone by Totem, lots of opportunity to build, create and play.

The Kids Midway ~ Loved that all the wee-rides were all in one section. This saved walking time, and cut down on saying, ‘those ones are for big kids, sweetie’ at every turn. Plus, it’s closest to the Expo Hall and Family Fun Town. Yep, it’s the little things like location and convenience that makes or breaks family-fun at amusement parks. Well, played!

Food ~ it’s an amusement park after all, so I have to mention the food! I noticed a huge variety, which is tops. You have your usuals like cotton candy, burgers and deep fried chocolate bars. But, there’s also healthy options like fruit smoothies and salads. Like the unusual? They have {drumroll} Crickets Pizza. Yes, I said ‘Crickets’. I didn’t try one, but wondering to hear a review from someone that did! See, variety!!

If you’re thinking of having some fun at Capital Ex 2012, the last day is on the 29th!

What an amazing looking time! 🙂

Some of my favorite memories from when I was young were from when my mom & aunt took my cousins, sister and myself to the Ex when it rolled through my neck of the woods! Such great times 🙂
