Ha! I’m pretty sure he’d know something was up. Yet, if he likes sloopy joes, I don’t think you’ll have any complaints!

This looks so yummy! I always make sloppy joes with the meatless ground round that you find in the produce section. Great way to work in your “meatless Monday” pledge and the family barely notices the difference.

      Hi Amy!
I’ve never tried meatless ground, what kind of taste does it have?

It’s funny to day something has “no” taste but its true. Its great for absorbing the flavours of other foods. I use it for chilli, pasta, sloppy joes, tacos and anything else where you would normally use ground beef. Its low fat/high protein and the meat eaters in the family are always clueless as to what it actually is 🙂

Ive made ‘sloppy joes’ with lentils or ground round (and to answer your above question it doesn’t have much of a taste – it picks up the flavoring of whatever it’s cooked with. IE Making tacos the seasoning – it’s been well liked by hardcore meat eatters though) – I want to give your version a try for sure!

Today is a rainy day, and I’ve been looking for some comfort food ideas. My bf has a dairy allergy, so I might make two separate, smaller pies. I’m not a huge fan of shepard’s pie, but I do love me some sloppy joe! I’ll def serve with fresh crescent rolls!
