Life is a Highway, Enjoy the Ride

The first time the twins took a ride in their Power Wheels Barbie Cadillac Escalade Custom Edition, ‘Life is a Highway’ came on the radio. How fitting right? It was one of those perfect parenting moments, when the kids’ smiles could have lit the world.

My 3 year old twins wasted no time in swinging open the doors and taking off, like they were born to ride. Freedom. Independence. Utter bliss.

We had to wait months to present them with the Cadillac Escalade {made by Fisher-Price}, since Summer is optimal driving time for this mean machine. With many outdoor toys calling our backyard home, the Escalade is the one item that is asked for most.

Since, it hasn’t lost it’s luster in providing shrieks of laughter and fun for my girls. On the same thought, it’s also the product that produces that ‘WOW’ expression from visiting kids and adults alike. You can’t deny from my photos, it’s made to impress, right?

Loaded with luxury features, just like the real deal, it has that kickin sound system {real-working FM radio}, rear speakers, tinted windows, shiny chrome wheels and so much more.

Kids always include aspects of real life into play, and this includes driving just like Mom and Dad. There is always a stop for that double-double from my twins too, hilarious! With so many features that do resemble real cars, the Escalade takes play and imagination to the next level. We can all relate to kids connecting with toy cars and zooming them across the floor. Now, they can get behind ‘that wheel’ and go on adventures.

The Power Wheels Barbie Cadillac Escalade Custom Edition drives forward in 2 speeds: 2.5 and 5 mph. It’s slow enough to be safe, but to them, that is a fast ride. I like that there’s also the ability to drive in reverse, a high-speed lock-out for beginners and Power Lock Brake System.

I’m not going to say that my twins have perfected their ride, yet they are getting better with staying on the sidewalk and trying to avoid people and non-moving objects. Knowing this, you can probably guess that there is a ton of laughs each and every time the girls go for a spin.

The Power Wheels Cadillac Escalade includes 12-volt battery and charger. I have heard other parents complain about battery life in powered vehicle replicas, and was prepared to charge this battery often. Yet, I have to admit to being TOTALLY SURPRISED that I’ve only charged the battery once. In months. The girls drive their car often too, so this my friends, was a welcome surprise.

Bear with me if I share more about our ‘sweet ride’ {umm, where’s mine?}, over the next couple of months. Schools out, summer is here and playing with the Escalade is now a daily occurrence. It really is so much fun for the kids and has been one of those products that we’re very happy to have.

Life is a Highway kids, let’s take some time to enjoy the ride!

My kids would go crazy for one of these. Heck, my son would even drive it regardless of it being pink.

Your son’s in luck, Rose – there’s a sleek black Escalade too! Match with dark sunglasses, wouldn’t that be adorable?!

Absollutely adorable! I love that this “ride” has so much of the cool factor of the real Escalade. 🙂 All those giggles and sidewalk crashes, making those memories…I bet they were worth the wait!

Absolutely love this! I saw one and wanted to get it for my little one, but she is still too young (just turning 2). I think she’ll have more fun with it at around 4 or so. Great pictures! This car rocks! I guess this gives me time to start saving my pennies now! It isn’t cheap; that’s for sure ;o)

If I were their age, I’d marvel in awe at that incredible piece of pink machinery, too! LOL Heck, I marvel at it NOW. REAL working radio with a sound system? They’re really making kid’s toys better and better these days ^.^

I’m jealous. Can they make a pink Barbie Escalade for us big girls?

However, I’ll settle with a white one 😛
