Scholastic Canada, Book Titles for Spring

Books are always a huge hit with my girls. I’m happy that even with all the tech gadgets available to kids, mine still pick up a book many times a day. For the twins, they love bright photos and being read to. My oldest now can read and fills most of her free time with reading and writing her own stories. When Scholastic Canada sent them an assortment of titles to enjoy this Spring, they didn’t waste any time in diving in.

The books for preschoolers have thick paper with easy words. My daughter, immediately immersed herself in It’s My Room by Robert Munsch. She didn’t have this title yet and being quite the Robert Munsch fan, was thrilled to have this new one.

Here are some of their favorites:

Good Night, I Love You by Caroline Jayne Church
Ages 3-5
~ The quintessential get-your-children-ready-for-bedtime book. With the charming illustrations that we have come to know and love from the author/illustrator and wonderful rhyming text, this book will no doubt be a success through and through.

Zoe’s Year by Barbara Reid
Ages 0-3
~ Where is Zoe going? Join her as she explores her neighbourhood in every season — splashing through a rainy springtime walk, enjoying a sunny summer picnic, playing on a windy fall trip to the park, and sledding on a snowy winter afternoon.

It’s MY Room! by Robert Munsch, illustrated by Michael Martchenko
Ages 3-8
~ It’s always exciting when a new Robert Munsch books hits the shelves! Matthew is thrilled to find out that he is getting his VERY OWN bedroom and won’t have to share with anyone. But then all Mom’s relatives come to stay. Getting his room back isn’t going to be easy!

My kids still enjoy being read to. Now my niece comes home and sit in front of the bookshelf for hours. (She can read now too). Nothing like a bed time story to relax before going to sleep. 🙂
