Holiday Recipe Shop at Walmart #cbias

During the especially busy holiday season, I rely on easy meals that will fit with the schedule and help this Mom out. Somedays life finally slows down just before dinner, realizing it’s too late in the day to prep and make something warm and comforting. When I know that this kind of day is coming, I like to choose a meal that can be made the night before {or the morning of}, to avoid settling on take-out and still fit in that home-cooked meal. And, there is one meal that I am especially fond of making, Glazed Ham and Hashbrown Casserole.

After dropping my oldest daughter off at school, the twins and I ceased the ‘before the rush’ opportunity to go to Walmart. We were shopping for a few odds and ends, yet mainly a few ingredients to make Glazed Ham and Hashbrown Casserole. I did browse a little on hand the night before, thinking I could try a new recipe. Yet, after searching for a while, I decided that I’d go with ‘ol faithful.

I made a rough shopping list via the notes app on my phone the previous night and before getting out of the car, I scanned all my coupons to see if there was anything else I needed. Seeing that I used the majority of my coupons last week, I decided to just shop and hit as many sales as I could.

The store was pleasantly quiet this morning, noting that if I needed to do more holiday shopping, this was the time to go. I got all my ingredients and a few other items, and whisked quickly through a checkout. I had plenty of time in the morning to prep the meal, loving that my busy afternoon wasn’t met with crowded questions of what to make for dinner.

I documented my shopping trip, what I bought and photos of making {and enjoying} the meal in a Google+ Album, have a peek and get an insight into my experience!

Also check out my Glazed Ham and Hashbrown Casserole recipe too, wonderful to have during the busy Christmas season, for breakfast or for dinner!
