Why 2011 Highlights? In one of my recent posts a reader commented with amazement of how much my kids have grown this year. The main reason why I cherish this blog so much is that I can go back to posts from years ago and see photos and stories of my children. A true chronicle of life, this space and the words within is my true treasure. They are ‘MyChaos’ after all!

So, to mark the end of 2011, I chose a favorite photo from each month, for each child
{Jan-Dec}. Now that, my friends, is a hard task to take on! More than physical changes, it was heartwarming to recall all the fun times this past year.

Along with that, my kids had some major accomplishments in 2011 as well. Yet, when you have twins, most of the events are done in unison. But, alas – I try and cherish their independence, so pardon the repetition.

  • Passed Grade 1 and started Grade 2 in the Fall
  • Turned 7 years old in September
  • Learned to ride a bike with 2 wheels!

  • Attended her first all-weekend Brownies sleepover, for 3 whole days {that was hard on Mommy}
  • Read her first chapter book
  • Learned how to braid hair
  • Favorite Music: ‘Selena Gomez’

Katelyn in 2011

  • Started preschool in the Fall, giving Mom a wee break twice a week
  • Learned to count to 15
  • Favorite Songs: ‘I want a Hippopotamus for Christmas’, ‘Skinamarinky dinky dink’ & ‘Beauty and the Beast’

Sophia in 2011

They do grow up fast! I’m glad some of the changes are good ones! Like sitting at the table, being in big girl beds, potty training success and reading a chapter book!

Every outsider thinks my boys are a year older than they are because of how tall they are. Plus Mica has a big vocabulary. I’m never sure if people thinking they are older than they are is a good or bad thing?

I understand, Alissa! Some people are shocked to hear that my twins are twins. Height, speech, size. One day at a time, right?

I love this year in review. Your girls are beautiful. I haven’t been by very often, but is it just me or does one of your twins look more like big sister than the other. They could probably pass for triplets if they were closer in size/age. Tell them I said congratulations on all the wonderful milestones they’ve met. 🙂

      you are right, Petula!
One of my twins looked exactly like my oldest in the first 2 years and now the other look more like her as she is today!
I’ll pass on that message to them, thank you so much for your kind comment!
