Easy Halloween Recipes

Myself and a bunch of friends get together every Halloween with our kids and have one huge Halloween party, then we all go out trick or treating together as a group. This year it’s my turn to host our Halloween party so I have been scouring the net trying to find easy recipes to make for the big {scary} day. From now until Halloween I’ll share my finds with you, since we all like recommendations on recipes, especially time-saving ones that can fit into our schedule.

Here’s on such recipe I found, on the Life Made Delicious website {yet I do wish they had a section just for Halloween recipes}:

Scary Skull Cakes

Ingredients:

1 box Betty Crocker* SuperMoist* White Cake Mix
Water, vegetable oil and eggs called for on cake mix box
12 large marshmallows, halved
1 tub Betty Crocker* Creamy Deluxe* or Whipped Frosting (any white or vanilla flavour)
48 small chocolate-covered mint candies
24 chocolate chips
1/4 cup (50 mL) slivered almonds {due to allergies, I’m using slivers of white chocolate in place of the almonds}

Method:

  • Heat oven to 350ºF. Place paper baking cup in each of 24 regular-size muffin cups. Make and cool cupcakes as directed on box.
  • Carefully pull back a small section of paper from each cupcake; insert large marshmallow between paper and cake of each. Frost tops of cupcakes and marshmallows to look like skull shape.
  • For each skull cake, use 2 mint candies for eyes, 1 chocolate chip, point side down, for nose, and 6 to 8 almonds for teeth. Store loosely covered.
Make sure to use black or Halloween themed cupcake liners! Bwaaaa!!! {Dracula voice}
.

Disclosure: I am part of the Life Made Delicious Blogger program and I receive special perks as
part of my affiliation with this group. The opinions on this blog are my own.
