Philips Sonicare AirFloss – Flossing without Floss?

I’ll let you in on a little secret – I hate flossing and I don’t do it {Dentists everywhere gasp in terror!}. I know, I know, I really should floss. I completely understand why you should because of the dental health benefits of flossing. Yet, I my teeth are way too close together and flossing is not only difficult – but very painful. I always get the lecture from my dentist to floss, yet I just can’t bring myself to do it. Well, thanks to Philips – there is a new way to floss, and it doesn’t involve floss. Confused? Let me explain…

The Philips Sonicare AirFloss quickly and efficiently gets rid of those germy in-between-teeth plaque pellets and food. Without the use of floss, it works by a patented microburst technology which delivers air and microdroplets of water to remove plaque and food that hides between your teeth. Proven safe for teeth and gums it features a rechargeable lithium-ion battery which lasts up to two weeks on a single charge.

I have the fancy and beloved Philips Sonicare Flexcare+ electric toothbrush. In fact, I adore it to pieces since it delivers that ‘fresh from the dentist’ feel. You know, the clean that lasts all day long? Yet, I hadn’t heard of nor tried this product before, that is until I received the Sonicare AirFloss from Philips to review. It looks really fancy, and is a marriage made in heaven standing next to my Sonicare Flexcare+ on the counter. Yet, what do I think of it’s effectiveness?

Well, it’s simple to use: add a teaspoon of water and when mixed with air, it blasts away everything out of hiding. I’d describe it as the exact same feeling as when you get a cleaning from the dentist – they use one similar to this! Since it has a tiny head, you can even get to the back teeth. My take? I like it! It certainly does the job it’s intended and is way better {and faster} than breaking out the long string of floss! Ok, so I used to not floss – I guess now I do {dentists everywhere breathe a sigh of relief!}

Disclosure: I received product to facilitate this review, all opinions are my own.

      Don’t worry, I don’t think you could poke out an eye with one. You should have seen me try spray-on foundation for the first time. Odd to purposely spray things at your face – but you do get used to it!!

    That’s a pretty cool gadget! I need one of those. I don’t mind flossing but it does hurt sometimes so an easier way to do it would be great!
