Canada Day Long Weekend

Celebrating Canada Day Long Weekend? Previously, I told you about WONDER+ SimplyFree hamburger and hotdog buns. They are the first Canadian national branded line of buns that are completely free of high fructose corn syrup, artificial preservatives, flavours and colours. They are also made of unbleached wheat flour.

With Canada Day long weekend just a few hours away, I know many MANY people either camping or planning some weekend BBQ’s. With the nice weather here in Alberta this week, we have been using that BBQ often. We even had a BBQ party with family, to celebrate the end of the school year and Isabelle’s achievements. I thought it was a good time to try out a new recipe, and chose to make Caesar Chicken Burgers.

So easy to make, these burgers combined our love for hamburgers with our favorite salad – Caesar! Now, when we make burgers, we always use the same recipe, so my family was almost taken aback by this new recipe. Yet, it was an instant hit, hubby claiming they are his favorite new burgers! We already discussed that these Caesar Chicken Burgers will be made more often.

  • I got our Caesar Chicken Burger recipe from the Canadian Living, Summer Fun Comes Naturally site. Currently they have 8 Great Recipes for you to try this summer, and they all look delicious. Check out the site and pick one to make this weekend!

  • Make sure you Enter to Win a BBQ Party worth $5,000! Just look for a unique PIN found on specially marked packages of WONDER+ SimplyFree hotdog and hamburger buns and use it to enter this contest. Wouldn’t that make this summer sweeter! I’m sure this is a prize that anyone would love to win.

Now, our BBQ parties haven’t ended, not by a longshot! We have a whole weekend planned to celebrate Canada Day. There will many opportunities to visit friends and family. You know there will be some BBQing to go along with that visiting – and with many kids underfoot – hamburgers and hot dogs will most definitely be served. Don’t forget to have your buns ready! {ha!}

Disclosure – I am participating in the Wonder+ SimplyFree program by Mom Central Canada on behalf of Weston Bakeries. I received a gift card and free product coupons as a thank you for my participation.
