NutriSystem, The Double Glance

Last week I rejoiced in my own personal victory for losing vacation weight in just 7 days, with thanks to the NutriSystem program. I had lost the exact amount of weight which I had gained on our holiday to an all-inclusive resort in Cuba, a couple weeks ago. My stress this past week was at peak levels due to both my email and site being hacked, and I am a complete emotional eater. So many times I wanted to run to the cupboard and dive into the biggest bag of chips I could find. Was my emotional eating ever tested this week!

I don’t have complete control over my self discipline when it comes to food, and I don’t know if I ever will be. Yet I can say with certainty that I have learned to make better food choices most of the time. If I do eat out {which is seldom since NutriSystem is so convenient}, I grab a salad or a small sandwich. I do have a love for water with fresh lemons in it though, so that is my drink of choice for most of every day. Side note: my daughter thinks this is what ‘Lemonade’ is, so she drinks it as much as I do, relishing in the fact that she gets unlimited ‘Lemonade’. It’s so funny!

Anyway, when stress was high this past week, I found myself in front of ‘old faithful’ many, many times {aka, the pantry doors}. Instead of eating through my emotions though, I would grab 3 chips and then walk away telling myself that I worked too hard to have any more. Over indulging just wasn’t worth it. It’s funny how this journey has changed me, since I could normally make all sorts of excuses for eating poorly. But now, reminding myself of my goals and why I am doing this, works!

Week 14 results: -3 lbs
Total weight loss to date: -27.5 lbs

After having such a good week, last week – I was so happy to see a 3lb loss! I was a little shocked and had to re-check the scale a couple of times. That double glance at that displayed number felt great!

Nutrisystem is providing their program free of charge for my participation in the Nutrisystem Canada Blogging Program. All opinions regarding my experience are 100% my own.

      Hi Ruth,
A few of my friends have since signed up after watching my transformation first hand. I’m very happy with the program, it’s very easy, convenient and delicious. I’ll never say it’s for everyone, but it sure is working for me!
