Panasonic Genius Inverter Microwave

My husband once considered gifting me an appliance, and one of his friends yelled, “NO! You can’t do that, it’s a gifting rule for women. You’ll be in trouble, man!”. Long after the fact, I heard this story and eagerly set my husband and his friend straight – I love appliances!!! Call me crazy {and I know I’m not alone}, but I adore kitchen products that make my life easier. As much as I could use a massage or my hair ‘did’ – an appliance looks great, is lasting and makes my domestic duties more enjoyable and time efficient. I’m all for function and making wise purchasing decisions, so if I want and need an appliance – gift that baby anytime!!

Today’s mom is on-the-go! From rushing off to work in the morning to preparing flavourful and nutritious meals for the whole family, moms are always looking for ways to save time so she can spend more energy on what she loves most, family. I don’t know of one household that doesn’t have a Microwave {if you have ever not had one for some time, you’ll realize how much you depend on it!}.

So, what better a Mother’s Day Giveaway than a Panasonic Genius Inverter Microwave, going to two of my wonderful Canadian readers!!

Panasonic Genius Inverter Microwave my organized chaos

Valued at $250, the Panasonic Genius Inverter Microwave is packed with a variety of advanced features moms will love including: a “keep warm” function for those who take a bit longer to get to the table; and Panasonic’s state-of-the art, proprietary Inverter technology that adjusts power levels to maintain the texture, flavour and nutritional value of foods without overcooking.

Panasonic Inverter® technology takes Microwave Cooking to the Next Level, here is a breakdown of its features:

The Facts

  • Conventional microwave ovens are only capable of using one power level. To adjust heat levels the microwave simply turns off for part of the time. {When a user requests 60 per cent power, the microwave energy turns on for 60 per cent of the time and is off for the remaining 40 per cent of the time}.
  • Panasonic Inverter® technology truly provides consistent heat levels through a method called linear power delivery {When a user requests 60% power, the oven provides 60% of the power, all of the time.

The Difference

  • Better taste – Inverter® heating minimizes the change in food texture to retain natural juices, flavor and nutritional content by using the most appropriate power levels for each menu item This continuous wave of energy, can simmer foods without overcooking on the edges and surfaces.
  • Lightweight design – By replacing bulky capacitors with a compact circuit, reducing the weight and size of the microwave’s power supply and providing more room in which to cook food, Panasonic’s Inverter® Microwave Ovens are lighter, sleeker and more compact than ever before. Overall, an Inverter® Microwave is 9 lbs. lighter than a conventional microwave oven.

The Benefits

  • Defrost in a hurry – Panasonic Inverter® turbo defrost technology is an advanced microwave sequencing system that uses the Inverter’s low-power delivery feature to defrost food quickly and thoroughly. It was developed on the basis of what scientists call “Chaos Theory”.
  • Keep Warm capability – Delivering a steady, ultra low level of power, the “Keep Warm” feature maintains a food’s warmth without overcooking. Users can store foods until they are ready to be served with a “fresh from the oven” taste. The “Keep Warm” function is perfect for almost any food including stews, desserts and gravies.
  • Sense the right temperature – The Genius® Sensor Reheat and Cook feature available in select models uses sensors inside the microwave to calculate proper cooking times and levels, allowing you to cook food perfectly by pressing one button, one time.

All that AND a Fingerprint Resistent Exterior Finish! Point one for Mom!

  1. I’d like to win because our microwave is quite old, and this one sounds like it would be great!

  2. I would love to have a Panasonic Camcorder – I don’t have a camcorder and with a baby and toddler I’d like to catch their milestone moments growing up before they’re gone 🙁

  3. I would like to win because the microwave I have was purchased over 20 years ago. It’s huge, and bulky and ugly.

  4. I’d like to win the Panasonic Inverter because I have two older kids who take forever to come to the table when they’re called for dinner. Also, some foods we like to eat (pizza, patties) don’t taste as good when warmed in a microwave oven. With four kids, I don’t have time to heat up our regular oven and cook a few hotdogs, it’s not energy efficient to do that!

  5. I would like to win one for my daughters school. I help out alot with Hot lunches and the current microwave takes FOREVER to do anything. This one would make a huge difference to the kids

  6. I would love this, because our current microwave is a relic and is just about to bite the dust. Because I am frugal I can’t replace it until it dies, unless I win one. Then all bets are off.

  7. I follow you on facebook and my daughter has moved out for school and could really use this microwave for her new living arrangement! Thank you

  9. This is purely dreaming, but one of those massage chairs would sure be nice for this pregnant mamma right now!

  10. I’d love to win one of these because our microwave light burned out about a year ago 🙁 Plus my parents have a genius microwave and I love all it’s features like the quick minute and how it senses when food gets to the right temp. It cooks and heats food so much quicker!

  11. I’d like to win because my current microwave is from 1994, and barely fit a dinner plate in it. LOL. It was a moving out present that my mom gave me after I finished high school. 🙂

  12. We’d love to have a camcorder to record great family moments, especially to enjoy later!

  13. I’d love to win, our current microwave hardly works at all! We really should replace it, but that just isn’t an option. I can soon see us just not having one at all!

  14. I could really use a new microwave.. our old one … the one that I loved sooo much broke down so my sweet husband saw one on sale and replaced it… unfortunately it doesn’t have any of the features I loved about my old one! I works but it is not a loved item in the house! It would be so wonderful to win! This one would be loved! 🙂

  15. Like you I enjoy getting things like this as gifts but never get them. This microwave does everything I would want in a microwave. If I need a new one I buy a very basic one and would not splurge on one like this even though I would love it, so that is why I would like to win it!

  16. we are in need of a new microwave! ours is a old cheapy one, and takes forever to heat food properly, the bottom peice doesn’t turn properly either, time for a new one!

  23. I would love to try the Panasonic DMC-GF2C Micro Four Thirds System camera – as a newly minted mommy with a penchant for taking photos, this seems like the perfect compromise between the crispness of a heavy-duty DSLR camera and the convenience of a point-and-shoot. The pancake lenses are intriguing – the allure of being able to take great photos without adding extra bulk to the diaper bag is a huge plus! The added bonus is that this camera is able to take 3D photos… what self-confessed shutterbug/sci-fi geek wouldn’t love to take photos of her baby in 3D?! Looks awesome.

  24. I would love to win this Panasonic Genius Inverter Microwave because the specs read like a wishlist for the ideal microwave! My old unit has been banged around over the years (20 years and counting!), and while it is a testament to the longevity of the Panasonic product (woodgrain and all), it is time to perhaps investigate a new one. The stay-warm features sound great and being able to reliably heat up food without the textures/volume changing is really a game-changer. Thanks for the review!

  25. I ‘like’ you on Facebook – have been following your writing for a while, it’s how I found out about the contest! 🙂

  29. I would love to own one of the Panasonic automatic bread makers. My mom has one and loves it!!

  94. I’d like 4.0 Litre electric thermo pot with vacuum insulation panel. Hot water to go at anytime would make meals faster (and the making of my tea instant)! What mom cannot use that?!

  95. DMC-GH2HK
Micro Four Thirds™ System camera with (HVS014140) lens MY daughter would die if I handed her one of those LOL

  103. I would love to win this because our microwave is on it’s last legs and Tobei will not let me get a new one until it dies. That could be forever at this rate as it is a thick string it is holding on by. Also the keep warm function sounds heavenly, especially with baby #2 on the way I am sure I will cherish it.

  108. Well, we have a very very busy household, and the microwave sure comes in handy when we are in time crunch mode…also, our poor microwave (I fear) may be on its last legs and given that we have baby on the way, and so many other “priorities” I don’t know that the purchase of a new one right now is high on the list should the need arrive. This, in my opinion, is like the cadillac of Microwaves! Thanks for the chance 🙂

  109. I would to win the microwave because my current one is very old and need to be replaced.

  112. id like to win because my old microwave is really tiny. this could be a really nice upgrade!!
