NutriSystem, Week 7

Our blast of mild Western Canadian weather has taken another bitter turn for the worst. With the cold weather, comes my need for comfort food, to keep the chills at bay and beat the winter blahs. This has been the time that I am thankful to be eating warm, comforting and delicious Lasagnas, Chili’s and Soups from NutriSystem.

So far, I really like the majority of the meals that NurtiSystem offers, just on their own. Yet it’s good to know that you can add a couple of ingredients and change up the meal if you want to. Myself, I have grown a little tired of putting the Chicken Salad Entree on lettuce for lunch. At the Recipe Center {at NutriSystem.com}, I got a great recipe for Tomato Stuffed with Chicken Salad. Using simple ingredients and the Chicken Salad Entree from NutriSystem, I can change up my lunch and try something new.

Speaking of which, though Canadians primarily use the .ca website, anyone can utilize the great resources at NutriSystem.com {the US site}. Not only is there a great community behind the forums, where you can read stories, get support, share tips and swap recipes – but there is great online weight tracking tools, videos and more on the .com site. I urge you to take a browse and see the tremendous support that NutriSystem offers!

So, it seems that after losing 17 lbs on the NutriSystem Program thus far, this week I seem to have hit a plateau in my weight loss. Normally this would have been so discouraging, I would lose sight of my goal. And that’s where I have always failed. Thanks to the support and encouragement from family, friends, you readers and the motivation from the NutriSystem.com forums – I know I can get through this. I love the fact that I can post my successes and struggles on my blog and gain such valuable feedback and personal stories – I am not alone. And if you are also doing your own weight loss challenge – you are not alone. No longer will plateaus get the best of me – I’ll keep at it until I jump over that hurdle.

Have any tips for overcoming my plateau?
Increase exercise or wait until it passes?

  1. That recipe for the Chicken Salad looks amazing! I know I am having a little bit of trouble this week too….I gained one pound….weird. As far as a plateau, trying changing your exercise routine maybe? Instead of increasing, do something completely different (different DVD workout or equipment at the gym). Not sure that helps but I am noticing that I need to change things up a bit too on the exercise front.

      I’m going to take a different class at the gym next week, change it up a little. Good advice, thanks!
      Sorry on the gain, but don’t get discouraged – it may be due to a ton of factors!! Let’s both strive for a better upcoming week!

  2. Try adding a very more calories to your diet for a few days and change up your Exercise i have been told its good to change exercise up every few weeks . Congrats on the 17 stay strong you know you can get over this plateau.COme join me at a yoga class this week

  3. I’m pretty slow myself these last few weeks, but it is still easy to stay on track, especially when you don’t have to think about the food,,, it’s all made for you, ready to go.

    No worries about this week, you’ve done incredibly well so far Tammi – keep up the good work.
