Philips goLITE BLU

The Philips goLITE BLU is a portable and affordable light therapy device which is designed regulates moods. And, it needs only to be used for 15-45 minutes a day for it to be effective. I was really eager to test out the Philips goLITE BLU since I noticed symptoms of SAD in myself, each and every Winter season. I tend to oversleep dring these months, and really have to drag myself out of bed. I definitely have less energy and seek more comforting foods for warmth and to, well, stay awake! I notice a drastic change in myself and my kids’ personalities and moods, when comparing the summer and winter months.

The Philips goLITE BLU is only 14X14 inches in size, making it easy to use at home or simple to take with you as well. I use mine on the table next to me each morning while I check emails. It’s not blinding to the eyes {don’t place it right in front of the eyes though, rather off to the side}. Philips has a wonderful online Circadian Rhythm Test, which evaluates the severity of your problem, if one exists at all, and the appropriate schedule to use the blue light. I found this most helpful, and I learned a lot about when I tend to get most ‘sluggish’ during the day, and my sleeping patterns. This also told me when it was best to use light therapy. I highly suggest that everyone take this test for themselves!

Philips goLITE BLU Plus features an easy-to-use touch screen, treatment reminder alarm and a digital backlit clock with timer. You can set the Philips goLITE BLU to turn on at a specified time each day, as well as for specific durations {from 1 to 60 minutes}. I just turn mine on whenever I want to use it, but it’s easy to lose track of time – so the alarm is a fabulous feature! The touch screen also allows you to adjust the light intensity, to suit your own brightness needs.

Philips goLITE BLU Plus is compact, unobtrusive, and portable. And because the light box is powered by a rechargeable battery (included), and because it comes with a protective case, it is easy to take wherever you need it. A battery indicator lets you know when it is time to recharge the unit, and it’s backed by a two year warranty. The Philips goLITE BLU range in price from $149.99 – $199.99
