Alice In Wonderland ~ 60th Anniversary Special Edition

Disney’s Alice in Wonderland is releasing a 60th Anniversary special edition film, starting February 1st, and I cannot believe it’s been 60 years! It will be available in Blu-ray and DVD combo packs, and my family were fortunate to get an advance copy of the combo pack. We already owned the original, so when my daughter seen the cover of this DVD she asked, “why did we get another, Mom? I’ve watched this so many times….let’s watch it again right now!!!”. Yet when we started watching it, we both noticed the amazing color and clarity of this version!

In the film, viewers can look forward to following Alice’s adventures as she chases the White Rabbit on a magical journey into the fantastical world of Wonderland. It’s a topsy-turvy place that gets “curiouser and curiouser” as Alice’s madcap adventures introduce her to some truly unforgettable characters – the Mad Hatter, March Hare, Tweedledee and Tweedledum, Cheshire Cat, the Queen of Hearts and more. It’s a great animated story that has pleased the eyes and ears of old and new generations alike.

Indeed, Alice is one of my daughters’ favorite leading Disney characters, she actually has 3 different versions of this story on DVD. After watching the film, we started watching the bonus features {I have a daughter that adore bonus material!}. This special edition copy has some wonderful bonus footage that shouldn’t be missed. My daughter especially liked the never-before-seen TV introduction by Walt Disney from 1959 {he produced this movie himself!}.
“Is that Disney, Mom?” my daughter asked. It was then that I realized that after loving Disney films for years, she didn’t know who Walt Disney was {!}. She was glued to the screen during this part, and asked a million questions regarding Walt Disney which lead to some research online. I love that she got to learn a part of Disney history thanks to special 6th Anniversary edition of Alice in Wonderland.

The 60th Anniversary special edition of Alice in Wonderland also includes bonus footage of Kathryn Beaumont {the voice of Alice}, pencil tests, deleted scenes, a Painting the Roses Red game and so much more. In fact, I don’t recall a combo pack with more bonus features than this one. This is a great edition of Alice in Wonderland, and I can imagine my daughter will reach for this copy before the others, when she feels the need for some adventures of Alice in Wonderland.

Make sure you download the Alice in Wonderland activity sheets, they are fun for the kids!! The 60th Anniversary special edition of Alice in Wonderland {Blu-ray/DVD combo pack} will be available for purchase on February 1st in stores for $44.99 CAD and $39.99 USD.
