Guinness World Records Book 2011

Most books are read and forgotten, but here’s one that is kept and never seems to collect dust: the Guinness World Records Book 2011! The 2010 edition we had since last year just bit the bullet last week when the Twins got a hold of it and ripped it to shreds. Yet, for one full year it was looked at by us all – many many times. There’s just something about all the useless {yet very interesting} information that make people immediately want to flip through it.

Recently we received a copy of the Guinness World Records Book 2011, and I was super excited! After all, what crazy records and feats did people from all over the world do this year!? My daughter and I sat with this book for a long time and giggled over the facts. It’s always fascinating {and a bit disturbing} to see who is the Most Tattooed Senior Citizen {Tom Woodbridge of the UK} or who stacked the most ice-cream scoops onto one cone {Graheme Celledoni of New Zealand}. Yet, there is a ton of great information about Space, Animals, Sports – the list goes on and on. These sections are wonderful for my inquisitive 6 year old! My daughter loves looking through this book, and more so now since she can read. Now she tells everyone the facts she has learned including, “…Did you know about the dog with the longest tongue…?!?”.

We always look forward to the new Guinness World Records book every year, it’s a lot of fun to look through. You may learn a ton, or you may learn something really dumb – but guaranteed you’ll crack a smile! And, there’s always a ton of conversation around this book, so that’s why it makes a great gift this year. And, guaranteed it’ll be looked at and read many times!

Disclosure: I was provided with product to facilitate this post, opinions are my own.
