Escape from Adventure Island

I have always been a big supporter of Jumpstart, my daughter finds their educational games fun and I like that they teach through that fun play. Besides online games, Jumpstart also has games for the Nintendo wii and we got to review the Escape From Adventure Island Wii game from Jumpstart. This game is intended for ages 5-9, which I think is bang on. My daughter can easily navigate and play this game on her own {she’s 6}. The goal for the Escape from Adventure Island Wii game is to find pieces to repair the blimp needed to escape the island. The math and reading games are intertwined perfectly so that the players don’t realize they are actually learning while they are moving along in the game.

Key Features of Escape From Adventure Island:

  • A magical 3D learning environment packed with games, adventures and hidden surprises.
  • Seamlessly integrated learning games that encourage players to practice math, reading and critical thinking skills to earn virtual rewards.
  • Wii Remote™ technology that allows players to run, jump, fly, swim, roll and dance across a virtual island.
  • The chance for players to express themselves while selecting the perfect avatar outfit, hair, features and more!

Isabelle, of course loves choosing the attire for her character. And, she likes being able to make her player dance and ‘do things’. She finds the games such as matching numbers and choosing the right letter very easy to play, Yet I like that she still does them since it reinforces what she has learned. And, she isn’t discouraged by a challenge of a harder level {there is light, medium and hard}. By far, she loves the underwater games the best! The Twins are too young to play this game as yet, but they do love watching her play this one and all Wii games. And, while I am making supper, this has been great in keeping them entertained, happy and learning while they go.

Escape From Adventure Island combines the fun and excitement of the Nintendo Wii with learning and education as they play. This game would be great for ages 5-9, yet keep in mind that Jumpstart has so many other games and activities for other ages as well.
