Mighty Leaf Tea Review

I’m not an exclusive tea drinker, opting for the occasional hot cup in the afternoons and evenings. This being said, I had always bought any brand and flavor – hoping to choose ones that taste alright for myself and my guests. I was recently introduced to Mighty Leaf Tea, and I now realize that I have been missing out on a whole world of decadent hot tea beverages. The brand and original Mighty Leaf tea house was started by a husband and wife team. Their mission was to introduce the modern world to quality tea products derived from ancient indulgences and customs.

Their passion is for creating the most incredible handcrafted tea blends found anywhere, globally sourcing the finest ingredients available. Paralleling the highest standards of quality at Mighty Leaf Tea is ongoing creative innovation.

For review Mighty Tea sent me a selection of their Tea pouches, and a Tea Top Travel Brew Mug. The tea pouches are handcrafted, made of cornstarch and are 100% biodegradable. Being eco-friendly, they are also compostable. The leaves come from tea estates which are located in China, Japan, India, Sri Lanka, Africa, and Taiwan. Mighty Leaf’s tea lines are developed for high end, 5 star restaurants, and since the products can be purchased from the website and in select stores, you can also enjoy these quality teas from the comforts of home as well.

When I reach for hot tea at home, I much prefer Green Teas. So when my variety pack arrived, I immediately tried one of the Green Tea Tropical pouches first. Rich in antioxidants, the Green Tea Tropical pouch has smooth green tea leaves blended with sweet tropical fruits. Compared to the brands I purchased before, the Mighty Leaf Green Tea Tropical tastes much more flavorful. Not at all bland, tart or grainy, It’s hard to describe how much better it tasted than others I have tried. Yet, I enjoyed it so much, I really don’t think I can go back to store purchased varieties.

I also very much enjoyed the Orange Dulce, a black tea from Mighty Leaf. Containing orange, vanilla and jasmine blossoms, the flavor is so delicious! I had to make a cup of this tea, using my new Tea Top Travel Brew Mug, and take it with me on an early morning trip to my daughters’ school. The Tea Top Travel Brew Mug is specifically designed for use with tea pouches, and you don’t need to remove the bag once the brew is complete. Perfect for those on the run! Though I don’t think tea will ever replace my daily coffee {not now anyway}, I do have another favorite hot beverage in the house.

Mighty Leaf also has herbal and organic teas – so many varieties to choose from. The sampler package is a great way to find your favorite, and a nice selection to have on hand for when guests arrive. Plus, every order comes with two free samples, another great way to try new flavors. Mighty Leaf Tea pouches make wonderful Christmas gifts, as do the Teaware. Myself, I’m really eyeing the Glazed Bamboo Teapot!
