The No-Cry Separation Anxiety Solution Book

One of the hardest parts about being a parent is hearing the heart-wrenching cries from a child who doesn’t wnat you to leave them. But, we all have to at some point, whether it be to go shopping alone, or to work. My oldest daughter never suffered from separation anxiety, since I worked full-time outside the home right after my maternity leave ended. She was used to day homes and saying ‘bye-bye’ to Mom for the day. Though it was often very hard on myself, she never had an issue. Yet, now that I’m a SAHM with the Twins, they aren’t so used to leaving my side. And, it’s not that often that I leave them with others – and they do suffer from separation anxiety. Sometimes they just see a babysitter coming up the sidewalk and they cling to my legs in protest.

This is why I was eager to review the book, ‘The No-Cry Separation Anxiety Solution‘ by Elizabeth Pantley. You may recognize the title from her previous award winning ‘No-Cry’ books, the No-Cry Sleep Solution is a sort of bible to some parents {hey, when a stressed parent finally gets some sleep, it really is a god-send!}. This book details a tear-free approach to child separation blues. I was really surprised to learn that I was actually feeding into the Twins’ anxiety in my own actions. I am very glad that I had the chance to read this book now, before they go to preschool. I also realized I was starting to see this anxiety even when I put them to bed at night, their crying for ‘Mom’ was starting to become worse over time. Through Pantley’s strategies, I know have the understanding and the method to give my girls more independence and reassurance, even when this beloved Mom has to leave their side. And, since the book comes with one ‘magic bracelet’ that I cannot wait to start using, I am happy to see that you can buy additional bracelets from Pantley’s Website.

Elizabeth Pantley helps you identify the source of anxiety and offers simple but proven solutions. In this exciting addition to the series, she ingeniously includes a free “magic” bracelet inside the book as a special tool for children to feel close to their parents-even when they’re not together. This successful method gives anxious children something to remind them their parents aren’t too far away-instantly providing them with the comfort and reassurance they need.

For parents, relieving the anxiety in our children can relieve our frustration and stress and make our days easier. Elizabeth Pantley also has other books which parents may find very helpful including: The No-Cry Sleep Solution for Toddlers and Preschoolers, The No-Cry Potty Training Solution, The No-Cry Discipline Solution, and The No-Cry Nap Solution, along with four other parenting books. She is the president of Better Beginnings {a parent education company} as well as a featured expert on a wide variety of parenting websites, such as ParentsAsk.com. Oftentimes she is a keynote speaker at parenting conferences and has been featured in magazines as Redbook, Parents, Parenting, American Baby, Woman’s Day, Good Housekeeping, Canadian Parents and Today’s Parent.
