Stainless Steel Water Bottles by Otterbottle,Long before BPA was a bad word among parents, a Canadian Mom {from Calgary, AB – my very own province!}, Shannon Andrukow had done her research on BPA and had designed more earth-friendly water bottles. After trial and error, and realizing the faults of other bottles, she launched her brand of stainless steel water bottles – and Otterbottle Inc. was born. At the time, stainless steel water bottles weren’t well know nor often used – but now thankfully, people everywhere are switching to a safer and more eco-friendly bottles. Remember, small steps make significant changes!,Otterbottle’s are environmentally friendly, BPA free, and recyclable. They come in a wide range of designs and styles and are available in 3 sizes: 500 ml {$17.99}, 750 ml {$19.99} and 900 ml {$21.99} and all come with a twist lid and a carabiner.
For review, I got a 750ml with swirls of purple flowers on it. And I must say, this is the nicest design of bottle I have seen yet – very trendy and chic! I have always been a person to have a battle of water in hand at all times. Now that I am a Mom of 3, I just tote around more. Whether on a day trip, or just running to the store – I usually have my bottle of water along for the ride. My biggest complain with plastic water bottles {besides the sever landfill issue, of course} is the taste of the water after being contained in them. Coupled with a hot day – yikes – that terrible plastic taste is enough to convince anyone to not drink their daily requirements. I like my Otterbottle for allowing my water to stay cool, and taste like fresh water again – even in the hot sun! My Otterbottle is no heavier than the others, is more durable, dishwasher safe – and did I mention that I adore my design?

With every Otterbottle sold, a contribution is made to the David Suzuki Foundation. Otterbottle is also a proud member of REAP (Respect for the Earth and All People), a not-for-profit association of Calgary businesses that are concerned with issues of sustainability.

  1. Ooooh I really like these! We have several water bottles in our house and they are plain and just ugly! It’s about time someone came out with some that are decorative (like us girls like!)

    Thanks for the info!

  2. I’ve heard a lot about these, they are so pretty. Maybe I would drink more
