2010 Olympic Torch Relay

Last night I packed up the kids and took them to the Torch Relay celebration in our city. Onward bound to Vancouver, BC – the torch passed through our city as it made it’s way
to the 2010 Olympics.
Luckily for us, it was only a few degrees below zero {oh, it could have been so so much worse!}. The event was held outdoors with live performances, activities {open games of Hockey, of course} and a lot of patriotic cheers and dancing. It was truly amazing to witness the sheer excitement that beamed out of each person. Witnessing the torch brought forth feelings of history, harmony, peace, determination and perseverance. I was happy to have shared what very well could be a once in a lifetime event, with my girls – whom all had so much fun dancing and clapping. To my surprise, they lasted the entire night! And, to end the evening was a fantastic show of fireworks, a first for the Twins
{and they loved them!}.

Here is my video of the 2010 Olympic Torch Relay.

{the big screen at the event showed the torch approaching our area, as it made its way through the city streets lined with people}

It was a fabulous evening, one which I am proud
to have been apart.
To all visiting athletes, family and fans – welcome to Canada.
May the 2010 Olympics be a successful and meaningful
moment in your lives.

And to my own homegrown participants – Go Canada!!
{I can’t help but to say that}
